And I support the troops as many of my family members are serving in the middle east. We're poor. You're probably not and probably can't name 10 people serving
My wife and I struggle to pay our heating and gas bills just like most of rural Wisconsin. I know 4 relatives / close friends in the Middle East right now. And I know there are many many more serving from my community, that I just don't happen to know personally. You do realize that you are mimicing the liberals right now? You cannot discuss the true issues without resorting to smear tactics and off-topic negative discussions.
The decision to attack was based upon economics, despite what the administration said leading up to the war
I couldn't disagree more. Look at your 2 choices right now, Liberals and Conservatives, and tell me who you think is more dedicated and determined to protect America? Is is the cut & run, let's hold peace talks, let's create sanctions, don't touch our phones even if it means catching terrorists, let's treat our Al-Qaeda prisoners farely liberals? Or is it the tough nosed, stay the course, intercept terrorist phone call, rough up our enemies during interrogation conservatives? The choice is easy.
Google, what a corrupt organization. They shouldn't spend the money feeding the starving children in Africa, or providing them with clean filtered water, or spent the money to offset Global Warming. They could've planted trees, put money towards researching alternative energy sources. There was just so much else they could've done with the extra millions they're making instead of wasting it on buying an old run-down garage. Unless of course, they were going to remodel the house and turn it into a Salvation Army or homeless shelter. Then I guess it'd be ok.
But it is globalization. A group I'll leave unnamed wants us to fall in love with the U.N. and spread love around the world. According to them we're supposed to donate till every last soul on this planet is living in the standards the U.S. has now. That's the problem right there, we're providing for everybody else and loosing site of how we're going to end up providing for ourself. First of all, not everybody wants to live in an age of technology, there are a great number of people in the world that prefer their lifestyle they're already living. Second, it seems to me that we spend too much time paying attention to the problems abroad and forget about our own internal problems. Globalization is killing not only the IT jobs, but our U.S. economy and way of living. When it comes to health, jobs, and education we need to concentrate more on what's going on inside our borders than what's going on outside.
What proportion of Iraq Civilian deaths were from Al-Qaeda suicide bombers, roadside boms, marketplace bombs, and other Al-Qaeda led attacks? You (an American Liberal) are again using defeatism and trying to point the finger of blame back at America. I just find it unimaginable, but you say it every day... "Oh, even though Al-Qaeda pulled the trigger, America is to blame." Why do you give leniency to murderers, thugs, and bombers, but show no remorse and don't have a second thought about putting down your own countrymen?
Ok, just had to rant. This is the most annoying article of all. Why did they need to put it on 2 pages? Did you see how much text was on the 2nd page? Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!! (Head Explodes)
Just like DDR, I laughed the first time I saw somebody playing Guitar Hero. But after sitting down and actually doing it... you're instantly hooked. Wow.
The game will be called Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, and will take place in four different chapters. The four chapters will take you through previous RE titles, including RE1's mansion, RE2's police station, RE3's Raccoon City, and RE4's village. Each chapter will have two playable characters, with the ability to unlock more.
Gameplay wise, it is reportedly a lot like RE4, with the Wiimote triggering the over-the-shoulder view, and firing being done with the nunchuck controller. As for the story, expect it to tie up some of the loose ends that have been the topics of message board conversations over the years. Maybe we'll finally know for sure what broke out of that tube in the RE2 lab...
Maybe we should start funding heavily the research that allows us all to live in the space stations and maybe even on Mars. Then if earth becomes uninhabitable for a few thousand years, we can all go on a nice long vacation!
Are you kidding me? Because of the U.S. and Europe's blatant disregard for their emissions standards, the endangered Manbearpigwill become extinct within the next 10 years. Please, save the Manbearpig! You can send your money donations to my paypal account: SaveTheManbearpig. We prefer donations in $20 increments. Thank you.
I personally think that you're right, and that we'll just be able to adapt to whatever nature throws at us. It's not like we're going to be able to have any effect on this heating trend anyways... unless of course we go back to the days of the stoneage, which even then there's no guarantee, cause this could be out of our control completely for all we know.
You damn hick-town redneck republicans who love your big business man! This is about America, and how we have screwed up the atmosphere for the entire world! I blame GW hands down. Gotta go pick up my kids in my new Lincoln Navigator, be right back to finish this post.
Kudos on pointing out what I see as the obvious. But I have it under good authority that you will soon be moderated down as Overrated because the/. group think totally disagrees with your statements.
Haven't you figured it out yet? This is/. and thus obviously it's GW's fault for supporting large industrial operations that have been spewing co into the atmosphere and causing the earth to rapidly heat up ever since he's taken office. We all know that GW is at fault for heating up the earth during the last ice age too! He lied to us! Plus there's no proof that human's didn't exist prior to the last ice age, and then they heated up the earth with their poor emissions, and... oh wait... hmmm....
For Torvalds, the controversy over the different versions of the GPL is ultimately very simple: If "I can just go back to 1992, when I relicensed Linux under the GPLv2, and ask myself: If I had the choice of licenses back then that I have today (including the GPL3 draft), which one would I have chosen? And the answer simply isn't the GPLv3. It might have been the Open Software License, though. But, most likely, it would still be the GPLv2."
Press releases are boring. We go through literally hundreds of them a day, and for the most part, they're self-serving documents full of half-truths and inflated claims about products and services.
Many publishers feel, however, that the search engines are becoming publishers themselves by aggregating, sometimes caching and occasionally creating their own content.
Let's just assume (for argument's sake) you agree that there is a threat presented by a group such as Al Qaeda and those who support them. How would you handle this threat?
Examples:
a.)Would you allow tapping of phones incoming / outgoing calls where one or more of the parties were suspected Al Qaeda as long as a warrant was acquired prior?
b.)Would you not attack or try to capture any Al Qaeda abroad, but instead just wait for action until they confront us?
c.)Would you try to begin peace talks with Al Qaeda?
d.)Would you put a fence up along both our north and south borders?
e.)If we are attacked again would you respond by holding a press conference, shunning the actions, and then trying to negotiate peace talks?
I just want to know, I don't want to be flamed. I want to understand how you would try to protect us from this threat?
... We see that today with many examples
Too bad you didn't cite any of them
Groups protesting an American soldier funerals instead of paying their respects. Immigrants burning our flag at rallies in San Fransisco. American citizens calling for the assasination of our president. Slashdot posters constantly making references / jokes about moving to Canada. I guess I just see the examples and you don't.
... If we don't unite, Hugo Chavez will be right in his recent flames, and America will crumble, much much sooner than we expect
What?! "[S]ooner than we expect"?! When exactly do you expect your "great country" to crumble?
Directly from Chavez's speech in which he referred to GW as the devil: "I have the feeling, dear world dictator, that you are going to live the rest of your days as a nightmare". Groups around us are preparing to act now, as we speak to destroy our country. They won't pick and choose, Democrat, Republican or Independant it won't matter. They're coming to get us, and according to Chavez's threat, it'll be soon... within GW's lifetime. Thus, if we don't stand up and do something, we going to be in a "nightmare" within the next 50 years. Does that answer your questions?
I should really jump on the "GW is always wrong, we should worry about Global Warming, not terrorism", Slashdot bandwagon. It would help my karma.
I think your another crazy redneck who jumped on the "I love America! Never talk bad about our President no matter what he does" bandwagon. Think for yourself.
It's funny how I've never really been referred to as a "redneck" except for on/. I do believe I'm thinking for myself, unless of course you're blaming GW for brainwashing Americans, which I wouldn't put past you. Since when did it become a bad thing to jump on the "I love America!" bandwagon? I guess I'm supposed to buy into this global, we're all human beings, we should all get along, United Nations mentatility. But, you are then being ignorant to the fact that a certain branch of a religious group that has said over and over again that they will kill and destroy the western civilization. There is no negotiating with this group, they simply flat out refuse to live with us, and they will not stop until we have all been destroyed.
If somebody defames your country or fellow citizen, sacrifice your time to address them, ask why, and work something out.
If somebody threatens your country or fellow citizen, sacrifice your time to contront them, and prevent the threat from being followed thru.
If somebody harms your country or fellow citizen, sacrifice your time to capture and bring to justice the guilty party.
With no sacrifice, we have no sense of one-ness. We see that today with many examples because it seems like if our country or fellow citizen is defamed, threatened, or harmed we just seem to shrug it off. If we don't unite, Hugo Chavez will be right in his recent flames, and America will crumble, much much sooner than we expect.

Instead of everyone spending all afternoon typing out the same pro/anti Warming,US,Oil,Bush arguments
This is what makes our country great! We can sit around and argue all day and not have to accomplish anything!
That is sooooo last week
You damn hick-town redneck republicans who love your big business man! This is about America, and how we have screwed up the atmosphere for the entire world! I blame GW hands down. Gotta go pick up my kids in my new Lincoln Navigator, be right back to finish this post.

We'll all move to Ecuador. It'll still be warm there, right?

No he doesn't...
I'm sure he'd still say he needs a time machine.

How about a system in which cars connect to electric lines along the highways
My entire hick town wouldn't buy into this "cars on rails" philosophy. How are you going to be able to go mudding in a Corn Field?
