Regardless of if he is dumb or not (Im betting not), the average business user who needs a PDA will not want to waste their time thinking with this product, they want it to work pure and simple with the applications that they use daily (lets face it, its going to be Windows that their using in almost all cases)... And it does make Linux look bad if it doesnt work with these programs, I know my boss would rather daily blue screens than having problems simply keeping his mail in order.

  2. Not for disabled users on Could a Pen Replace the Keyboard? · · Score: 1

Being a chronic Arthritis sufferer I can safely say I find a keyboard a hell of alot easier to use than a pen. From gripping the pen to writing legibly at speed to stress in the hand and wrist, the keyboard beats the pen on all sides for me, esp in prolonged use. Alot of other disabilities benefit greatly from the keyboard too, too many to mention.

  3. Sea level rising? Probably not on Larsen Ice Shelf Collapses · · Score: 1

What I find laughable is the people who say all this ice melting and going into the sea will raise the level of the water, ice is expanded water is it not? Thus when it melts it takes up LESS space and with the majority of ice being under the water, the sea levels changing to swamp Florida/London/Anywhere I think is total crap, if the south pole melts where the ice is actually on land, then this will create an additive effect yes but perhaps cancel out the north pole? Still bad though having the buggers melt!

Technology does NOT make the soldier for gods sake! The US are notorious for just shooting off their guns and throwin bombs at a situation and killing themselves/allies at the same time. Typical US soldier moto I heard from somwhere: "Were out of ammo, lets make a plan!" The US "special" forces are filled with people who think they are invincinble then are suprised when bullets start hurting them. More like a 30 000 feet army i.e lets use other peoples forces and just drop bombs. US can NOT stand seeing their own get hurt, thats why in the past week the "600" or so allied forces only had a FRACTION of US soldiers!

I agree, when I first got involved with FreeBSD and Redhat Linux the damn things crashed all the time! It wasnt until I gained some more experience did they become more robust. As in my previous post above, I have used Win2K pro now as my main desktop since it came out and crashs are extremely rare. On flip side, my experiences with Win2K server have been less than good. I still insist on using FreeBSD for any/all server applications and Win2K pro as my desktop. Dont feel like you HAVE to use one or the other, use what works for you!

I agree with Windows 2000 Server, ive had nothing but problems with that. But Win2K Pro, has been rock solid for all the time ive used it, ~7 hours a day since it came out and it hardly ever crashs, i.e once every two/three months. Win2K Server however, wouldnt start IIS after I installed service pack 2! No setting changes, just an install of the service pack, and IIS wont work until its removed, bizzare.

Why would a company choose OSS then? If they have a choice between claiming against someone, and a "Oh well it didnt cost you anything to buy, so the millions you lost using it is your own fault", I think I know what software the company will take. Forget about providing the source, companys dont want to tie people up looking through the code for bugs, that costs time and money, they want to get the software, and use it.

In the UK on Sky we already have a channel dedicated to Games, they do things like standard game reviews, developer interviews, take you round tours of all the tech shows etc etc. Also have things like Legend Of Mir hour where they talk about the game people can send in questions etc. Also on another channel (Bravo) we have during the week LAN game shows where people play Counter-Strike, Quake 3 and the likes. And in our little digital box to get all those they already have games on demand (ok, so their a bit cack :P) things like Snake and Bubble Bobble and the mandatory card games. They keep adding new ones all the time though. Theres another channel .TV I think its called and they do games but also tech help and other hardware reviews, also application shows i.e showing you how to do a 3D model of something in 3D Max or so.
