You are assuming that rips will be done doing the same means. Now that the format is already digital, and available over satellite, well, its not too hard to put 2+2 together. DirectTV and Dish Network have been fighting long battles to stop others from pirating their signals, but it still happens, alot. I would not be surprised at all if soon, very soon, you will see digital quality flicks on bit torrent downloadables even before they hit the cinemas. Ripping movies with a camcorder will be a thing of the past.
I have read most of the posts below where Korea is being compared with Iraq. I amazed by the magnitude of sheep on this topic. I see a lot of pokes at the Bush administration, and how it was using WMD as an excuse to get "OIL".
Seriously folks, if that was the case, wouldn't you expect the OIL prices to go DOWN? We are looking at 2 bucks a gallon in the midwest.
Have you forgotten the mass genocide Saddam has commit, even to his own people? If you look at history, I think this would be topped only by Hitler.
Most of you also forget that there was a majority support for the US to invade Iraq. Dems and Reps.
They were all using the same intel.
There is a difference between a threat to the country and a threat to human life.
North Korea doesn't pose a direct threat to the US, but more than likely, South Korea, and most of Asia. I don't recall the N. Korean ministry commiting mass genocide recently.
Now, their dictator is completely nutz, but very predictable. US intel knows that. They have also know for quite some time numb-nutzs' intentions. The "element of surprise" of the US about N. Korea is just good show to sway the general public which ever way they choose.
hey Goofy, I don't know how long you've been using linux, but you are way off on the whole another distro bit. Slackware is one first distros created, geez, do your homework.
Garage basement project? are you 12 or something?
Hmm... now where did I put that razor, OH YEAH! I shoved it up Big Brother's ASS! Thank goodness for RFID, or I would have never tracked it back there.
Buy:
Line6 P.O.D. 2.0 $299
2 midi cables $10
Snd blster audigyPlat $200
Cubase VST $350-600
The pod is the best thing since sliced bread. You can emulate 32 different amps and 12 different cabinet designs. It has both balanced and unbalanced outputs as well as fully midi programmable. You can use sounddiver software or patch wizard to do this. And it also has all the cool effects.
I don't care what anybody says, the soundblaster audigy kicks ass. The cubase vst ASIO driver delivers true 2ms digital recording with the audigy dsp. The older soundblasters do about 48ms at best. So with the audigy, you get almost realtime digital timings. Get the plat as the front 5.25" panel has real midi, digital, rca, and dynamic mic inputs, as well as a cool remote control...:)
Cubase rulz. There is a "lite" version that comes with the plat. They call is Cubasis. Get the pro one. It has mucho features. Oh, and did I mention it has tru 16/24/32 bit recording?
