    id games sucked as much ass from a design point of view in the days of Doom, so Romero really didn't help much... He may have been able to keep Q3A from being the retarded hunk of ass it was, but I wouldn't put money on it...

    Even Commander Keen (while enjoyable) was a franchise of mental retardation...

    Doom, Doom 2, Quake, Quake 2, and Quake 3 have to be the least interesting games from any sort of design perspective... They're entertaining not for any sort of creativity, but because they simply allow you to run around and shoot things... None of them have provoking stories or complex world interaction... They looked good at the time, but that isn't game design, that's engineering...

    John Carmack is the last human being that should be talking about how you should design a game, because all he really designs are shallow, feelingless, mindless shells that he then sells off to others to try and make into an actual game... A bunch of raving retards embrace it, not because they're good, but they're mindless fanboys that have no understanding of design or even the technology used to develop id's sad games...

    Your average consumer doesn't know what mega means, doesn't know what a byte is, and couldn't care less whether it's 10^6 or 2^20. There's nothing confusing about using MB or GB to refer to a power of two, it's simply not consistent.

    In case you didn't realize, the interest in the great high-end graphics boards is held by those people that want every last frame they can get... Not just for the games they have now, but the games that are arrive, and will arrive in the near future...

    And a TV is one shit-ass output device, and the games are generally gay and lack any decent multiplayer options...

    There is no Ti500 GF2, so that's hardly confusing...

    You'll note that the reason they mark the golden sample cards with these labels is that they provide better than spec memory and test the processors to determine if they're overclock-capable...

    Perhaps if you reviewed hardware you might know what you were talking about, and would understand their position... It's hardly fraud...

    What you don't seem to realize is that you can beat others and still be sufficiently intelligent to construct weapons, and creative enough to provide entertainment...

    You don't want "geeks" to be "left alone," you want them to be recipients of all of the benefits of society, without the requirements of it... A society that requires strength in all areas will function quite well, it would simply support fewer people... That's quite alright, except useless people such as yourself are permitted to ride on the tails of the strong...

    In modern society, think of stupid people as analogous to various non-predatory pack animals (cow, elephant, etc). What they require to flourish is sufficient food and shelter, and little else.

    Think of the not-stupid as predatory animals that require many times their body mass of food to survive. For the purpose of this discussion, consider that instead of the morons as providing just food (which they do), they provide other essential but retarded services, such as janitor, food services employee, maid, waitor, house painter, plumber, and so on. To function in a state of higher-order thought the intelligent person requires those unable to do so, to pick up the slack of grunt work that is created by the existence of the intelligent.

    It's actually to their benefit to have a certain quantity of retards floating around so they don't have to grind their own flour, to put it bluntly.

    It just so happens that capitalism suits these requirements especially well.
