MPEG4 is just a format for how the data is stored and how the data should be read by the decoder. That's why you can use a DivX decoder for Xvid, MS MPEG4, 3ivX, etc.
Each of these uses different algorithms inorder to come the final MPEG4 data standard. Some algorithms are better than others, so some codecs are therefore better.
I have asked this questions at Form Factors forum, but no one seams to be able to answer the question. So can any of you Slashdot readers help me on the way?=)
When I look at this picture of the new PSU, I can't help to think; Why the wierd shape? =)
If the tetris shape is because of the power connector, I have an idea:
"Cut off" the block with the power connector, so the case is almost cubic, and move all the output cables to the side of the PSU.
Make the power connection mountable in the tower/desktop just like an USB extenteder.
The wire from the power connector could have a small socket on the other end that is pluged in to the side of the PSU.
Or the wire from the power connector could access the PSU together with all the output cables.
In the end of the article and the interview Kiss tells the Open Source community to be happy that Kiss is using Linux, and from that we should thank them.
I think it is the other way around. Kiss should thank Linux for the kernel, as Kiss wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Linux!
The least Kiss could do, is not to abuse the community that made what Kiss is today.
Remember Linux came first, so it is Linux that made Kiss.
Good idea. I think someone should give IBM a call. I bet they don't mind spending a few millions on a lawsuite=)
Really, "Microsoft Windows" is the most rip up of "X Window System" as it can be!
Yes, and from that I can't see how Lindows can loose such a case based on an everyday word. Ups I wrote an trademarked word. Ups I wrote the word again. Ups I...
I had expected to read something like this:
(1) It uses a crypted AAC format where personal data from iTunes is kept. If you share a song from iTunes, Apple can track you down. I surely don't hope my credit card number is put into the AAC files aswell! My name is bad enough!
(2) Apples software can ONLY put songs to the iPod. You can't take a song out of the iPod. In order to do this, you need a third party program.
(3) If you put songs from iTunes to your iPod in one country and you connect it to iTunes in another country, your songs is deleted!!! This is an old/. story.
About Vorbis on portables.
(1) A none FPU version of Vorbis excist.
(2) If you want the music to hold secret information Vorbis can crypt the song aswell. This features is made especially for portables!

DivX 5 was once Open DivX 4, but then they desided to go closed source again, and a fork of Open Divx 4 was made, which is what we now know as Xvid.
It is Microsoft that sold a bad product, so why don't they have to pay for all the damages their product have caused?
Use Xouvert or FreeDesktop and it is the end of the story.
If I remember correct then is Xouvert an early fork of X 4.4.
FreeDesktop is of course a long term better choice, but I don't think there is a working version yet.

What do you think?
I am not impressed. have a look at this NorthQ 400W 12dB or this NorthQ 500W 12dB PSU.

It is not a question of MPlayer themsselfs violates the laws of copyright.
It is a question of that a big company violates the GLP and earns money based on that!
A company should know better!
This is perhap the greatest game of all time. And now can I play it again on my Linux box, with superb graphics and code!!!
Thanks! Thanks! Thanks!!!
Does anyone have a direct link to the trailer, so I can "wget" it?=)
Does anyone know if there are plans for a Linux port of the emulator?

How can Microsoft win this case, when they don't have copyright for the everyday word "Windows" or for that matter "Word"?
From what I know was microsoft forced to change "Windows" -> "Microsoft Windows" and "Word" -> "Microsoft Word".
Lindows cloned the word "Windows" not "Microsoft Windows".
