    I'm wondering how day trading, as an activity, benefits society.

    They provides liquidity in the markets. Every time you want to buy or sell a share, the faster you can find a counter-party, the better your chance is to get your order filled.

    Myriad? There are a handful of variants of each, and they're all capable of running the latest version of the OS. Older iPhones don't have GPS, but their location sensing still uses the same API, you just don't get as accurate a reading as you do with the the new ones.

    Playboy's been in bad shape for quite a few years now. It seems like they never figured out how to stay profitable in the face of competition from the web, despite having one of the most valuable brands in the world.

    Take a look at their chart. If you click on the ten-year view, you'll see that they peaked during the dot com boom when investors just assumed that they were going to make a fortune on the net.
