the stability of these releases are questionable, and they have been known to cone dump into various output files.

Cone dumping is a problem... hopefully, this new vehicle solves it.

No! What about the migration of swallow carring coconuts?

The president ruling when I was there was "Color"(sp?); an asshole in my humble view.

His name is "Fernando Collor de Mello", elected in 1989. He was a complete crook and got impeached for corruption. That was back in 1992.

Yes, I see you are right. Votes are counted in paper ballots after all. But, still, no "hanging chads" problem. :)

    > how do you say "pregnant chads" in Portuguese?

That would be: "repleto de confete". Confete is your word "confetti". Meaning lots of those bits of paper. I don't know a better word in Portuguese to describe it, sorry. :)

But this electronic baloot system doesn't produce lots of chads, because this one is completely electronic. The vote is registered inside the device.

Don't think just in terms of the US. Japanese DVDs for instance are far more expensive than americans DVD. Just like VHS used to be. I don't know why this happens in Japan, but buying movies, animes, etc there is usually very expensive regardless of the medium. For instance, a DVD with 2 episodes of anime may cost 70 dolars. Sometimes I buy american DVD because of extra stuff to.

Forget it. It won't. Not even the USA seem to allow products to get inside without heavy taxation. I mean, they still protect local industries from something they created themselves. Something should be done more like the Europe did: try to bring countries to a minimum level of development, but the difference among South, Central and North America is huge. That will never happen. The policy adopted by IMF towards underdevelopment coutries will not change that either.
