Not that I have tried it (Linux user) but I suspect CLippy was like all other Winhelp - slightly less useful than "RTFM".
I gave up on help when OS/2 help for printers was "A printer is a device for producing hard copy" but failed to tell you how to actually get it to produce any hard copy. Google is your friend.
Their key concept (USP) is shafting people (anyone: customer, supplier, partner). In the old days, there was "one born every minute". These days, the sucker market is saturated.
Some time in the 1980's there was a huge scare that PCBs were killing people on a massive scale. The actual evidence showed large numbers of Electronic Engineers were dying, and they had been expsed to PCBs.
Some time later, it was discovered that male baby boomers who were not electronic engineers had disproportionally died of gunshot wounds in the Vietnam war, and those that had not, were indeed, probably exposed to Printed Circuit Boards.
It is amazing what you can prove with incredibly bad science!
Polychlorinated biphenyls are only used in the most enormous transformers and motors (megawatt and up). However, they are also used in industrial manufacturing, and leak into the environment.
The Windows phones of that era were unmitigated shite, constantly crashing losing apps and data, and bug fixes never happened. When a new version came out, the customer base was publicly shafted. They are still doing this while Android and IOS ship regular upgrades to their user base (Maybe not in America).
Many business users tried this technology, and none will risk trying it again.
MS have yet to learn that customers do not like being publicly slapped in the face with a wet fish!
You left out "Write Snobol4 programs". Lots of older people are command-line litterate and dont need more power. Even if they are gamers, Sodoku does not need a lot of RAM or power graphics.
Let's say you managed to get 200 Watts of power savings
They you are well on the way to being superman. The average XP machine, (excluding monitor) probably only has a 150W PSU, so saving 200W aint going to happen.
In those parts of the country where there was rioting, there is a tendency for the police to smash people's heads and shoot them in their beds, and they keep getting caught telling lies, that is why some people trust gangsters more than the police.
They may behave well in some places, but in others, they just cover each other's arses.
HTC could have been No 1 in the market, but decided that the reason people bought Apple was because the iPhone did not have removeable batteries and externa SD cards. In reality, the reaon people did not by Apple was to get removeable battriese and external SD cards. Change of tack on this and HTC could be No1 again. The build quality of their Android phones is good.
No one has allegience to Samsung (all my family are Samsung users). We buy the best Android phone on the day our contract runs out. We have a boatload of Galaxy S3 batteries on charge at any one moment, and when we come in the door, we swap batteries. S4 or HTC? when the contracts run out, we will look at everything, ZTE, Xaomei, or WTF.
No exchangeable battery - no buy. Simples. WinPhone? Are you MAD?
Dislcaimer: We have 4 Nokia Symbian 60 phones, and they are also in regular current use.
I had people come to my office and request that Linux be removed and replaced with Windows 7.
So have I. Then, once they found out what they had asked for, they wanted Linux back. They were hoping to get Office 2000 on Ubuntu, but did not know how to describe it.
It was a solved problem (Wordperfect) then MS came along and unsolved it.
Nowadays, outside the USA, people are beginning to understand the significance of having a file format that is independent of the application. (odt). I would sell my MS shares if I had not already done so.
As a standard that has worked perfectly well for 20 years, actually, it is a good idea.
If you do it by accident, you will son learn how to use the undo feature. If you didn't know that already, then you definitely needed to learn it!

The part that went into my pocket?
Even pigs can fly with sufficient thrust? People come with Android as standard, these days.
As a Galaxy S3 user, I have found being able to read HTML, PDFs and Word docs really useful. And I don't have to use MS software! (Priceless).
Did you ever use Word Perfect?

What about the selling of souls to the devil? Surely that is their biggest business area?
There is also the not insignificant fact that STEM graduates can get better [pay and more respect by working in other fields.
