    For a neural network, learning and forgetting are the same process. AFAICT, a mind is necessarily a neural network.

    If you want a digital assistant that won't forget unless you tell it, get an iPad. (Or better still, a life) and obviously, avoid anything portable made by MS.

    52% US citizens believe that downloading free music is some sort of crime, 59% of Germans surveyed believe this too.

    Probably a larger portion of Germans think that "crime" is too broadly defined as to take it very seriously. Putting things in the same category may or may not make them "the same". (According to the Bible, gay sex is an abomination but then again, so is eating shellfish.)

    I tend to agree - the only music I have bought since CDs were invented has been re-releases of old stuff I have (or had) on vinyl, or would have bought it it had been distributed better. However, I have been to see numerous live bands since. None of whom are featured on the TV.

    I have tried to use the Unity interface, and I it definitely feels like someone has literally had "intimate knowledge" of it in the biblical sense.

    They probably need the funds for a trial.

    Like announcements that a rediscovery of some 18th century quack physics leads that "may lead to a possible way to make batteries with 500% more storage capacity" - the key work is may. It also may not, but you wont know till the money si all gone.

    Long as it's cheap and will log onto Facebook, the average consumer will buy anything.

    That was so last year. Now they use their Samsung Galaxy S3 for Facebook. They have no need to replace their fully WinXP laptop with anything. Especially not someting they cant use (Win 8).

    If they desperately need to spend money, they will by "An Android iPad" -just ask them!

    Everyone has seen the hollywood movies that have been run through so many test audiences that it has become just bland pap.

    Fortunately we have African movies, which are completely untested, and the plots, effects and acting are all so bizarre that you can't stop laughing.
