I don't want to know about these businesses or their products. Hence, I report every instance of spam I get to the maintainer of the originating site requesting that the spammer's account is closed. If that doesn't help, I report the incident to organizations that maintain lists of pro-spam ISPs.

    Sites which encourage suicide

Just one question: what business do you have to stop people from killing themselves? It's their body and life and everyone should be allowed to end it in any way they want.

Sites that provide information on how to kill yourself painlessly and effectively should not be banned. Otherwise you have the same people, who would commit a suicide regardless of the whether the site exists or not, will do something idiotic like overdosing on Paracetamol (=end up spending weeks in a hospital in incredible agony because you just destroyed your liver) or shooting one half of their face off but not killing themselves.

The harmful health effects of the widespread use of fossile fuels on human health are well documented and the fuel supply is limited.

I don't understand why you people are so short-sighted that you INSIST that we should keep on burning the stuff instead of doing something smart like financially supporting renewable energy sources. Is it the easy money or that you simply equate progress with mindless consumption and environmental damage.

I for one am prepared to lower my standards of living to develop a sustainable economy of energy.

So why don't we splurge on fossile fuels and create a paradise of insane consumption then?

Hell, every American deserves at least four cars and us Europeans at least three. Let's be geneours and give everyone in China a refridgerator and a car to every Afraican and Indian. Let's also make wasting food and energy a new fashion trend (oh, I forgot. we already waste energy on running our computers 24h/day for stupid things like SETI)!

People like you make me sick. If anything we need to LOWER the standards of living in the industrial countries and REDUCE the energy consumption.

    Oh come on, admit it.

People are, in general, difficult to deal with and it is often best to have as little interaction as possible. Ideas like "it is not healthy not to meet with people" and "you really should go outside and do something" are made up by people who are afraid of being left alone. They think that because they fear loneliness, there must be something seriously wrong with people who deliberately avoid other people. These are the same people who feed their kids Prozac because the poor kids don't smile all the time or aren't social. These are the same parents who feed their kids Ritalin because the kids "make too much noise" and "can't concentrate" (in a badly ventilated classroom with incompetent teachers).

Furthermore, they don't see the difference between being alone and being lonely.

But we are different! Some people relax and gain inner strength from socialicing. Other people only get stressed by people and can relax only when alone or with a couple of old friends.

Science is the most successful IP system in the history of the human kind.

Yet, it is based on the completely open and free dissemination of information. In fact, it absolutely requires that the information is given -- free of charge and in every detail -- to your peers.

In the light of the success of science one would tend to think that the same model would be applied to every human endeavour. Unfortunately this is not true.

The reason is the good old human greed. "Why should I give the information away for free when I can charge for it and its use". Despicable. If such a system were introduced in the scientific community, there would be a revolution.

Yet, people have been brainwashed to accept that the movie people, song writers, software companies and authors are somehow expempt of their responsibility to the human race. They are allowed to leech on the society.

    This must stop now.
