The CD doesn't know it. I don't know it exactly, but here in Germany those "copy protected" (or "copy controlled" as the label on them says) CDs exist for some time now, and they seem to have different sessions or tracks for audio and data (WMA files) content. A normal cd-drive in a computer seems unable to read both sessions and therefore displays only the one including the WMA files (or whatever they want you to see on your pc), while a audio cd-player only reads the session with the cdda-tracks. Problematic is that some DVD-Players or car-radios with built-in cd-player seem to act like computer-cd-drives and cannot read the CD correctly, because they "find" only the data track. Because of that the CD-Labels have to carry the note that the CD can possibly cause problems on certain devices. This caused quite an uproar among the customers and cd-buyers in the stores, but record-companies actually don't seem to care... Luckily for me, my iBook with MacOS X is able to read the data-session as well as the cdda-session, so I can rip and copy all the copy-protected CDs I own to listen to them in my car, too. I heard from a friend that there shall also be some software to modify your cd-drive so that it acts like a hifi-cd-player and can read the cd without trouble - but I'm not sure if it works at all, and if, with every cd-drive out there.

Yes,kick them all... I mean, I had no application on MacOS X that crashed till now - exept for MS IE and Office... I changed to Safari and I'm glad, and when OpenOffice is ready for everyday-use, I will kick MS Office as well - any objections?
Oh I think the Gerd Show actually is nearly everything you have to know about German politics right now - most of them ar idiots and do not know at all what to do against the problems we have.:-)
But thanx to you - and to all others who replied - for telling me what to think of Mr Moore.
I don't know how many of you already have read it, but I think that "Stupid White Men" by Michael Moore is quite worth reading, if you want to know more about Republicans and their interests... (If I'm not telling you news anyway, forget about this post!)
I read it and - as a German - really started thinking.
Oh and by the way, can anyone tell me if all in it is right? Because if it is, well... did you think about attacking yourself do bring democracy in that country? But anyway, go and read it for yourself and tell me what's wrong and right - you're quite more "int it" than I am.
... why everyone's against everything coming from Microsoft. Sure, the company is evil, but now in this case it seems to me that they really "invented" quite a good thing, and why not use their product? Of course, yeah, we can wait a few months till there is an OSS alternative, but hey, they were first.
I think many people should think over their opinion, because there are just too many stereotypes concerning Microsoft. Most people don't think, because "everything that comes from Microsoft is bad."
They certainly have to be kicked of their monopoly-socket, but we have to allow them as well as any other company to bring their ideas to the market and sell them - with fair methods of course.
So it seems to me as if it was the perfect OS for older computers for which GUIs like KDE2/3 etc. and full featured Linux system with OpenOffice etc. were too "big".
Though I used a Pentium 133 with about 6,5GB disk space and 32 megs of RAM as a "surf station" for my younger brothers. Besides, it runs as an automated backup-server. I installed Debian (woody) with IceWM and Opera5 on it, and it is nearly as fast as the Pentium 2 400MHz with KDE2 we use in school... only this veeeeryyy old screen sucks...!
But if I had knew about OS/2 beforehand, I would have tried it. Oh and can anyone tell me were to get OS/2, since it is no more sold in stores?
I've never used OS/2, but what about the performance??? Is it really the same as native Windows or Linux? THough it should work fine for testing purposes I guess...
Well... do I really need it? I'm quite happy with my windows 98 (NOT the second edition) and my linux box... I got drivers for every piece of hardware, and I really don't want to get in those troubles with the drivers for e.g. my NoName TV-Card which friends using Win2K and similar Hardware had... No thanks, let's wait a year.. or two... or some decades..:-)
... that you can open the "advertisement" site!
so obviously MSN is NOT interestet in customers if they you e.g. Mozilla, but in people willing to put their AD on MSN's page... yeah, perhaps Is should do the same thing with my Homepage...
Perhaps like this: "You are welcome to my Site, if you are willing to send me some cheques..."
I think someone at MSN didn't understand the meaning of a Website... or do they consult their Webmasters from the XXX-industry???:-)
If you really need a computer in the middle of nowhere, buy an Apple LapTop (iBook or PowerBook, first needs less power).
...)
Anyway, I'd suggest doing anything but use a computer.
Man, enjoy nature! (wildness, mountains, girls,
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that the first time that Apple ports software to Windows?!
:-)
Uaahhh, we apple-users lose our... mmh.... elite-like position as being the only ones to use that great stuff of software...

Hello out there!

that trailer's f***** old!
... this does'nt look as half as good as the original powerMac case does!
;-)
Too massive and not enough transparency.a
I'm not a mac-user, but I don't like it.
Besides, not the right hardware in it!
I bought some 00.01 tickets for me and my friends, and I'm not willing to destroy all the tension and curiousity about it by such a f****** divx.
