  1. signal on Google Replaces Gchat With Hangouts Today (axios.com) · · Score: 1

Can't we just agree to use signal? Text, voice, video, encryption, easy to use. Why do we stick with these inferior alternatives.

  2. Re:Once again the dead tree press screws ups a... on NYT Explores the World of Internet Trolls · · Score: 1

I remember alt.folklore.urban threads so funny that I could hardly read them through tears! In retrospect, trolling had a twofold purpose, first to entertain, and second, to build community through mild hazing. Through this process, newcomers came to understand the inside jokes. In contrast, I find the portrait of trolling as presented by the article to be depressing - trolls as malicious anarchists who seek only chaos.

This guy knows what he is talking about. I wonder if those rubber keyboards would help. The on-screen keyboard programs limit damage as well.

This is just not true. I do all of my banking using Chase Online through Mozilla. While they say they do not support other browsers, Mozilla works without a hitch.

  7. Morpheus on Morpheus DOS'd and Moving to Gnutella · · Score: 1

One thing that rankles me is MusicCity's absolute failure to give props to Swabby for developing the software they're using. It seems to me that they don't play well with others. On the bright side, the gnutella network has more than doubled in size so far today! (http://www.limewire.com/index.jsp/size) One point that has gone unnoticed in this discussion is that fasttrack had limited file transfers to 128kpbs MP3 files. Because gnutell does not supply metadata, files of greater quality will now be available, (although people should really be migrating to ogg's by now).
