  1. Re:Granting Habeas Corpus To Our Enemies?! on US Senate Fails To Reinstate Habeas Corpus · · Score: 1, Troll

Why in the hell is there even a DEBATE about granting CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS to those would seek to have our Constitution DESTROYED? Oh, have all the people detained by our military been charged with seeking to overthrow our government, given fair trials, and been convicted? I hadn't heard.

  2. Re:What an ass... on Innovative, Original Games Have No Chance · · Score: 3, Insightful

Dude, Ken Levine doesn't need to prove himself. He designed Thief and System Shock II, and he executive produced Freedom Force, three of the most innovative big-budget games of the last decade. If he has criticisms of the rest of the industry, the man has earned the right to speak up.

(No, I have never met Ken Levine. I have nothing personal invested in this. But to say of the lead designer of System Shock II "If he wants to make himself look better than his peers, perhaps he should do so by proving himself"...well, you should be embarrassed, frankly.)

  3. Other songs by the same guy on Code Monkey Like Fritos · · Score: 2

I've been a fan of Jonathan Coulton for a while now. He's got dozens of songs freely available on his web site, but here are a few of the ones that I think /.ers might particularly like: "Better" "Skullcrusher Mountain" "Gambler's Prayer" "Re Your Brains" Enjoy.

  4. March issue of Wired on The Star Wars Car · · Score: 1

The article on the car will appear in the March issue of Wired, or so Shawn himself told me last Friday. They did the photo shoot last week.

  5. More impressive than the sabers on Fake Light Sabers Making Real Cash · · Score: 0, Offtopic

And no, it's not a Photoshop job. I've ridden in this thing.

  6. Ben Edlund's future projects on The Tick to be Cancelled · · Score: 2, Interesting

I went to hear Ben Edlund speak a few years ago, and after he had fielded a couple dozen questions about minutiae from Tick cartoon episodes, I asked "What are you working on besides The Tick?" And he smiled and said, "You know, I'm really glad you asked me that."

So, while I'm sorry to see The Tick go, I got the impression that Ben's ready to move on. Personally, I'm looking forward to seeing what's next. Ben, you made the world a little weirder - thanks.
