That is perhaps the most disturbing part of it all. The Dalai lama has hanged Beijing's reputation on the biggest international stage of em all, and then he backs out from wanting independence. Is like hitting a homerun and then decide to not step on the home plate. He put all his people at stake for basically a bragging right. After the olympics the same beatings continue in the backroom.
All the record labels have to do is allow other media players to have the same priviledge. If I went out and bought a Creative Zen, then it too should be able to download unlimited music and not be locked down by Steve Jobs ^H^H^H^H^HApple.
If EA was really generous they would not be doing this when the stockmarket is in the hell hole. They are obviously taking advantage of the economic situations. Here's a new EA slogan.
EA ---- play the market, not video games.
This is bad for consumers. They should be shutdown. I piss on anyone who spent any money buying their monopolistic football games.
His ex g/f? I have a theory that most of the vandalism and campaign against Jimmy derives from competitive wikipedia clones like conservpedia, christian-only-pedia. His gf probably don't give two sh*t.
The browser war was so over years ago. The only reason why IE7 is still standing is because corporate apps are forced to support it as M$ has far more corporate influence than mozilla org.
The people doing the factory work probably has no idea what is going on. Let alone think they are counterfeiting. They are just showing up to work. The people who are doing the bargain buying are not even Chinese. Look at the names: Todd Richard, Michael Edman, Robert Edman. Do the workers even know they are imitating?
This is the first technology debuted on slashdot in like 2 years that actually caught my attention. They better lock the patent on this before someone steals it.
Useless is right. Service based economy is the last thing we are. Try going to a restaurant there is no waitor/waitresses most of the time. Try calling tech support the wait time on average 10 minutes if you are lucky. Anything having to do with services doesn't pay well. People are not attracted to building a career off low paying jobs. Nobody wants to do it.
Not one bit true. Wordperfect was already in trouble long before its port to linux. Is because it was dominated by evil^H^H^H M$ word that pushed it to an infant linux market. And it didn't work. Now I hope this attracts Paintshop pro, the better graphic program.
More like M$ is the king of borrowing other people's ideas and adding their own copyrights on top. So they worship other people's copyrights under their roof.
This comes down to who is valuing the education more. Most people in America are joining colleges to loyally wear hats and t-shirts of their favorite college sports team. Or mardi gras or parties or frat or sex or free beer. If others want to get some knowledge out of the classroom, let them. We could use more real students in our education system.
I personally know people who withheld from buying a new computer in stores due to vista. Who would have thought an OS finally gets so much bad rumor it is causing negative sales.
My computer doesn't need AT&T. If it's tied to a specific ISP I can still choose between comcast and at least another carrier. Not a lot of choices but 2 is better than 1. But somehow the iphone has to be different.
Why does this news feel too late for me to get excited? Just about every enterprise level-app from oracle to you know what, has been running on linux. People need to go back to the pre-fedora days when redhat 9 was practically the enterprise version. And everything was pushed onto the platform.

In other news the $10 trillion Operation-Robo-bat was spoiled when a really horny male bat mistakened it for a female bat.
Correction, a slow leak is a "drip". Ok I will shutup now.
