Do iPods still have to be sent off to replace the battery or not?
They never have been. You can buy a battery replacement from Newer Technology and replace it yourself in about five minutes. They even give you the tool you need. I did this and found it to be very easy. The cost is also very low on these compared to having Apple do it. I wish Apple carried these in their retail stores because for a lot of people, they just need to be told that these exist.
Obviously we should apply the Intelligent Design movement's latest algorithm for proving that God (or some other unnamed being with supernatural powers) tampered with biology.
I'm waiting for someone to get caught red-handed rigging an election and then try to say that God did it (probably because God hates Democrats.)

"2 way transfers" meaning transferring to your iPod, then transferring from the iPod to a second computer? (There'd be no reason to transfer a song to the same computer from which you got it in the first place.) Obviously, this is a copy protection, and iTunes will never support that.
The iPod supports that feature NOW for music from iTMS. And transferring songs in non-FairPlay formats is pretty easy too, you just have to look in some hidden folders. Hell, it would probably be easy to write an AppleScript to copy all the music off your iPod and import into iTunes. I use this feature all the time to move music to my work Mac.

This happened about the time we stopped using the army for actual defense of the country and instead started using it to bully the rest of the world.

But Blu-Ray is teh suck. Why I want to buy some orphaned format. Believe me, Sony don't know how to make a standard. Beta-Max, Memory Stick, others. They always find way to lose.

In the real world, experts from all over the country warned about the problems of these type of voting machines. Actual people (mostly republicans) insisted on buying these machines from a company that pledged that if you buy them, then republicans will be elected. Then the machines are bought and put into service and they fail in such a way as to favor republicans. And to anyone who complains there is always some republican shill like you who will say "It isn't like anyone could have predicted this would happen! It is a fact of nature that computers are teh suck, so you should expect glitches!!"
No, everyone predicted this would happen. It was caused by people. Deliberately. The county executive did not fall down a flight of stairs and a pen fell of his pocket and landed on a blank check in such a way as to write a check to DieBold to buy these crappy machines.

We are talking about calibrating touch screens. I have never used or even seen an ATM machine that had a touch screen. Next obvious question is: why do voting machines have touch screens?
The SLA members were hunted down many, many years after their crimes and in most cases it was for bombs that either didn't go off or else they had called and warned people about the bomb and took efforts to prevent people from actually being hurt. However, that's not really the point, though. The point is that the reason someone wasn't hurt was because of luck. If you are exploding bombs to blow up other people's property, you can easily kill someone. It is reckless and it is a bad idea and you will be punished if caught.

So, in 2006 they have a touch screen that is much harder to align than a Newton MessagePad which shipped in 1993.

I think you would need to narrow the group of suspects just a bit. You just described almost anyone who ever used their service.
