That's what happens when you let horses rule. Or hippos.

  2. Re:who does this affect? on Comment Deadline For NYC Photography Permits · · Score: 1

One million dollars of insurance != one million dollars. The venue for our wedding required general liability for $1M, and it cost us about $250. I did a quick search and found you could get liability for photographers/videographers for $350-700 a year. Might make sense just for the equipment coverage. And even if the city doesn't require it, there's nothing stopping your fellow students from suing you if they get hurt helping you on your student film.

I'm pretty sure someone else had this idea in response to anime based army uniform oh so few months ago. Feeling pretty bad about that mod score, now eh?

What's the range? I bought a Lashout and I'm not happy with it. Top speed is cool for first 5 miles (21 mph) but it's dead around 8 miles when the range quoted in the promotional material was 15 miles.

That works the other way too. If you did use the card on the way home that same day, then you're not a suspect. Or you paid the janitor to drive your car home and took a plane to Chicago to hide the knife.

Well now, wouldn't it be grand if they could add an optimization that would recognize a bubblesort and change it to a quicksort. Or better yet, tell the programmer to use STL.

Why not pair this technology with voice recognition and OCR to re-cue recently read or heard text/language? I typically take a lot of notes in meetings, but do not do so to be able to read through them later. I take these notes to help me remember what was said. I think the act of writing it down and seeing the words on the page gives me a boost in recalling later since I now have the additional memories of the same material.

  9. Since when is voting not a right? on Computer Scientists Rally for Reliable Voting System · · Score: 1

Except for felons actually in prison at the time of the vote, no one should be denied their right to vote. Florida denies ex-cons the right to vote even after they are out, which results in 31% of the black males in Florida not being able to vote.

Why not have a few cameras pointing in all directions, flexible lcds (if there is such a thing) used as the fabric and just 'show' what the camera pointing behind the guy is seeing on the front of the guy. Maybe do some corrections on the shadows and what not.
