Let me rephrase, why would I earn 100 trillion and have 99 trillion taxed from me and given to the poor, when I can simply earn 2 trillion, and keep 1 trillion.
So, the poor will receive less anyway. Or the rich will find a way around paying taxes. Laws to redistribute wealth do not stimulate the economy.
