I shouldn't have mentioned Algebra. My point is still valid, though. During the "dark ages" of Western Europe science was thriving under Islamic/Arabic influence. Contrary to suppressing scientific research it was encouraged as studying God.
I didn't get the impression that goggle was banning any sites. They are just talking about taking down content on their sites. I can't imagine why heretical would be taken down except for its awful design. Is it hosted in India?
Islamic and Arabic in that timeframe were used interchangeably. Mullahs and muftis might not have but hakims did. Under early Islam studying science was akin to studying Allah.
I am not sure that there are many gods not worshiped in India. Besides having a large Hindu population, there is also still many Muslims, Buddhists (started in India and Buddha is considered even by Hindus as an incarnation of Vishnu), Christians (Christ also is considered an incarnation of Vishnu by some), and Sikhs.
You can say wild but companies learn from their mistakes. Look at how they've done with XBOX and Kinect. As a PS3 owner I can tell you that they leveled Sony.
It's not flamebait if it is the truth. Specifically from the article I am referring to:
"At churches like First Baptist Church of Anoka, parishioners believe that homosexuality is a form of mental illness caused by family dysfunction, childhood trauma and exposure to pornography â" a perversion curable through intensive therapy."
Well Trump is set to endorse Romney and if his endorsement speech is half as crazy as Palin's endorsement of Newt then it still could raise some taxes under this idea. I wonder when these politicians will start begging to NOT be endorsed by these looneys.
Amazing that I read this just after reading an article about several suicides in a small town in Michigan. It seems the anti-homosexual leadership in the community and school district basically ignored charges of bullying by students.
Funny how I don't remember a computer game that teaches kids how to be hateful bigots. Pretty sure they got that from their parents and their church.
Well I wasn't aware of your reputation before I posted but I can see why you are so defensive. Google has little choice but to comply with local laws. You can't blame them for the over-restrictive laws in other countries. They are making it, however, that censorship in one country doesn't have to affect other countries. They are completely cutting edge with this and you'll likely see other companies doing the same thing.
And forget about NCR. By not completely blocking a particular blog they make it easier for people to circumvent the censorship in many easy ways.
Your title is ridiculously misleading no matter what. Google is not censoring anything. It's still the governments on the respecting countries that is doing the censoring.
Different countries have different laws when it comes to freedom of speech and censorship. You aren't going to change that. This is basically a tricky way for google to tell the governments they are blocking what they want but at the same time letting the users have a back door around it. I think it's a brilliant move. I can see more companies going this way which in the long run makes the censorship useless.
If you read the article Google is doing this so when a blog is censored in one country it isn't censored everywhere and you can always access the blog by appending ncr (no country recognition). This means they found away AROUND the by country censorship. Talk about spinning a story.
I am actually not looking to share individual files that way. I often agree to give my client both edited and all the original files. Some of those originals could be awful but at the end of the day we are talking about potentially 200+ files. Right now I just zip them and upload.
I do appreciate the site link, though. It could serve other purposes - although I like photo.net for sharing and discussing photos.
I could host it myself but then I am dealing with worrying about storage, security and bandwidth issues. There is a reason these companies exist and it isn't just piracy. It was just very convenient and people are used to be blasted with ads on the internet.
Well I am open to suggestions. It's actually a real issue for me at the moment. I've just been too busy to do the research. Megaupload was easy to use and well known enough that people didn't flinch at downloading from it.
Why would I want an FPS higher than my refresh rate? I never understood those people who brag of 120 FPS when your screen is only going to show 60 of those.
I didn't lose anything I didn't have backed up locally but what I did lose was the service I was using to send clients the photos I took for them. Plenty of alternatives, obviously, but how do I know which one would be next?
You are mistaking Christianity for all world religions.

Wouldn't Google be the webmaster?

Not entirely true. A lot of early science and math came out of the Islamic world. Think of it the next time you do algebra (al jabr).
That makes absolutely no sense. Nintendo was and is the leader that Sony and XBox have been eating away at.
You can say wild but companies learn from their mistakes. Look at how they've done with XBOX and Kinect. As a PS3 owner I can tell you that they leveled Sony.
I predict a world where Microsoft has the best mobile platform but can't break the stranglehold of Apple and Google.
It's because it is the most widely supported enterprise email app. It was the first most companies went with so they are slow to move to alternatives.
That's funny. The only app I ever have issues with is one of the most widely used - Good - and it is awful on both platforms from what I understand.

And it was Minnesota - not Michigan. Had Michigan on the brain from earlier today.

So in your opinion it is better to just let blogs be completely shut down in those countries.

Um ok. My guess is you weren't in my target clientele anyway.
