  1. Re:in the long term... on eBay Battles Power Sellers · · Score: 1

Why don't they just change it so that feedback from both parties is not visible until both have left feedback? Problem solved.

  2. Re:In defense of the feedback change on eBay to Drop Negative Feedback on Buyers · · Score: 1

Ditto here. I have one negative feedback on my rating from someone that sent me a defective "new" item that he wouldn't replace. I left negative feedback not suspecting retaliation and blam, he give me a big negative in all caps. I haven't left a negative since, I'm just real careful where I buy now. I always look deep into the feedback now which is an unavoidable pain. - Brian

  3. Ditto the Computer PS on DC Power distribution - Nix the Transformers? · · Score: 1

Mod a computer PS or do what I did. Run wires into your computer. I have several wires that have coax power plugs on one end and all run into one molex power connector in my computer which is then connected to a spare power connector on my PS. So, my linux server powers my cable modem, router, and access point. This gets rid of all the power bricks and I think uses less power overall because the switching power supply in the computer is more efficient than all those bricks. It also gets rid of the need to have a power strip in between my UPS and my server, so it's a much cleaner setup.

Also, a small tip here. I have found that many devices that come with 7.5V or 9V or 12V power bricks run just fine on the 5V output of the computer PS. This is the case for all three of the devices I mentioned above. They run much cooler and consequently use less power. Just don't do it backwards and use the 12V supply to power a device rated for less than 12V.

  4. Great for large houses on Use A Regular Phone For Cellphone Calls · · Score: 1

I bought one of these a couple months ago and I love it. When I get home, I just drop my cell phone in the cradle and it will ring any phone in my house. The caller id info is also sent to all my land line phones. The downsides I have noted are:
    1) Sometimes people on the other end hear a faint echo
    2) You have to dial the # key after a number to place a call, so it won't work with any hardware device like a Satellite box that has to dial home. Although I don't know that a modem could work over a cell phone anyway.
Upside: I save $40/month on a land line I rarely used.

Ok, that's what I was expecting. Title of this thread just threw me. Thanks.

  6. Re:How many episodes? on Stargate SG-1 & Atlantis Renewed · · Score: 1

I'm glad someone else noticed this. How can they claim that both SG and Atlantis went through a full season with so few episodes? I generally consider a season to have at least 20 episodes in it. Also, there was no season finale or anything, the new episodes just stopped. I kept thinking they were just taking a break and I'd see an announcement for new episodes soon, not a new season. Also, while I like Atlantis a lot, the new SG season has been really lame. It build up to such a great finale last season finding ancient technology on earth, and they really haven't done anything with it. I also get sick of them killing a system lord and then another one stepping in and grabbing all his stuff. When the heck is SGC going to start winning this war? Hopefully soon if the episodes don't get any better....

  7. Re:Attack! on Best Sci-Fi Space Battles? · · Score: 1

I'm glad someone mentioned 'Severed Dreams'. I just watched that episode on DVD a couple weeks ago and the battles are amazing. I believe this episode also won some awards. I think the B5 CG in general is just amazing considering the budget they had. I was worried that it wouldn't look good once I bought the DVD's, but I still love it.

Thanks for the direct link! BTW folks, you don't need QuickTime PRO to WATCH the movie, apparently just to download it. Use this direct link to download it to your computer and it plays fine.

For future reference, care to divulge how you found the direct link?
