In some countries this is regulated by law. For example where I live, I have right for a 5-minute break after each 60 minutes of work (if I work in front of a screen).

Why are you focusing almost exclusively on art-related issues, while the article, and the discussion below it, is mainly related to industry, and very marginally (if at all) to art?

One of these satellites (PW-Sat2) is built by university students with an intention to test a "sail"-based deorbitation system (among others). All the documentation is available on the the project's website (https://pw-sat.pl/en/home-page/), which might be a great help to other students who might want to start their own projects. I think it's great.

Well, some businesses (like banks) still use those very specific mainframes instead of k8s clusters on commodity hardware. These are mission-critical applications, and for (sane) institutions that run them, uptime is more important than cost cutting. I tend to classify power generaction as mission-critical for our civilization.

  6. I was not really fond of GDPR when I have first heard about it, and sure I do not know it very well, but I already see positive effects. Multiple companies had to actually contact me and inform about their policies regarding my data. Companies that I did not really remember doing any business with, and for sure would not know what they know about me. An eye opener. I actually consider if I have to create an account, and what data do I have to share before doing any buisness. Even my employer had to change its internal policies and scrap some data/copied documents it had on me. I have started to appreciate being a European a bit more.

Well, it really depends on where you live. I am in a central European country, a city of 200k population, and it is MUCH safer than, say, 20 years ago. Of course you can always get into trouble, but in general, it is getting better and better. Somehow, I did not feel even remotely as comfortable when I was traveling the US this year. Especially in larger cities.
