I do not believe ST:TNG was shot in Widescreen.
I am also a fan of Widescreen myself, better composition and whatnot.
A lot of people think that watching Widesceen means they are missing the top and the bottom of the picture when actually watching Full frame means they are missing half the picture a little on each side. And some of the pan and scan movements aren't very seamless at all. Irritates the hell out of me actually. And really if you have a 30" TV or Bigger Widescreen isn't bad.
But I wouldn't expect a Television show I watched in Full Frame to be released in Widescreen. About the only Widescreen TV show I can think of is B5. Are there many others?

Yeah well it sure as hell beats out what MTV decided to do with their programming. Just be glad watching Cable Television isn't like paying for 500 channels of MTV style integrated marketing. You know, where you only get to watch 3/4 of the original image because of some stupid whirly gig in the corner that's obscenly distracting obscures everything underneath it. Then every five minutes some stupid pop up in the other corner that obscures another quarter of the image AND proceeds too voice over the audio in an annoying way. This is part of the reason that I quit watching MTV years ago, the other reasons include that I grew up and oh yeah the music went to shite.
I've Got Digital Cable(2 boxes) and Roadrunner I spend a total of 75 a month on that all in one bill, So there's two in one. And to be honest I am not impressed with the image quality of digitally encoded cable. (I'd rather look at a little noise than banding in the large gradient fill areas like skies and walls and whatnot)
Then there's the phones I own and maintain service for and never use. And not because there is no one to talk to, I do have family. But I don't find anyone really worth talking to over the phone so much to the point that I would go out of my way to make a phone call. My phone bills are regularly under 50 dollars and that's including local and long distance. So 125 to 230? Um probably not.
The article never says what's "included"...it is worded as "offered". I am wondering if/hoping that this is an opt in service with the ability to customize for what you want, and the 230 thing is the Deluxe package.
I would probably still choose to keep everything the same. To me, change is never convenient. So why would I pay to be inconvenienced?
Great post man!
I would also like to meld into that:
In my interpretation, the progression of the story revolves around the creation of technology to advance intelligence and simplify the act of being.
The bone, a piece of landscape was transformed by the ape in that moment of insight into a piece of technology. As a tool, as a weapon, the bone made the act of living and solving problems a little easier. It was also an advance that if one were alive in that day would slap their forehead and say to themselves, now why didn't I think of that? I would draw the conclusion that once this aspect of technology invention became evident to those employing them it allowed the species to focus on creating more technology that would further change their lives for the better. Thus striving to invent allowed our brains to evolve.
Technology is an aid to evolution. The more technology you have the easier your life gets and the harder your problems to overcome become. Technology is also an aid to simplifying your life. By these two bits, one could say that, Technology is an aid to evolve into a being that is both on a higher level and yet simple at the same time. This sounds an awful lot like the monolith. The monolith is a symbol of minimal perfection. The apes, seeing the monolith and having the initial insight of creating it's first technology, transforms that higher state of being, the monolith, into a goal for all of human kind. Technology is just another vehicle to continue and expidite the process of reaching out towards that goal.
yet another person who does not have the brain capacity necessary to identify a joke or the definition of sexual harrassment.
And now we know why reality TV is raking it in...because fiction requiring some sort of imagination and creativity is a position with a vacancy sign on it. Either writers are getting dumber and lazier or the audience is getting too dense to fathom fiction...
*sigh*
well, It may have been fun and games up to the point where she waltzed off the set. The tone set forth in the exit Interview reset that for me. To me I perceived it as though she was "acting nice" while in front of the crowd and then went completely feral backstage.
I think Wil's approach to the game was clean and well represented as playful.
Good boy Wil, good show. Roxann can't identify or take a joke. That's my story and I'm stickin to it.
*pats Wil on the back*
yes, it was after it was taped not after it aired. The post I am referring to where he adresses his concerns is at www.wilwheaton.net
and it was posted about a week ago or so.
No, Wil posted a couple posts ago about being upset that Roxann might have taken some of his comments too seriously was going to call her and apologize. Although, I really don't see why he owes her an apology for the way she took the joke. It's her problem, not his. I guess that's what you do when you are a genuinely nice person.
She doesn't seem to know when someone is making a joke. I mean "because I am in love with her" all by itself....without the tone...maybe could be taken seriously, but add "because she is the only one on here who is as good looking as me" and it becomes a complimentary joke.
In regards to her exiting comments"
Starting out saying she would be mad if Wil wins it is just out of line, I mean what she was really saying is that she hoped he blew it for his charity. Way to go Roxann! Now shut up while I dig through your email.
Then going on to say she didn't like how he "came onto her on public TV"
Well geez, sounds like someone is full of herself to think that was coming onto her.
And that she was upset cause her husband was going to see the show.
Well my dear if you were that upset about it maybe you shouldn't have mouthed and gestured "I love you" back to Wil.
What a dumb bitch.

yeah, a long time ago they did.
The M in Mtv doesn't actually stand "Marketing", although I could see why one would be confused.
*Jesus that made me feel old.
