How about using a Wiki? I use TWiki at work, it's really nice and does all you ask for (including revision control using rcs on ALL documents, including file attachments).
Sounds does work. Use a benh kernel and compile the 'soundcore', 'dmasound_core' and 'dmasound_pmac' modules. Even the brightness buttons will work with this kernel!
Only problem left for me is the 56k modem (any hints on that?) and FireWire - though that might work, I just don't have any peripheral to test it with.
What's going to happen when we have 3D printers that can duplicate anything in the future. Will we be able to then copy a DVD player for $5 at some kiosk. Where's the incentive to design and produce DVD players going to come from if this happens?
They won't be produced anymore, just designed. The 3D printers will be produced and you will buy blueprints for stuff, I guess. But of course, those could/will be pirated aswell.
So why the heck will take another 10 years to reach mass market? Are they saying that these buses and fleet cars are unreliable, expensive, and ready to blow up?
Not at all, it's just that the oil industry (including the oil exporting countries) will oppose the technology strongly.
I'm sure this makes Belgium a terrorist country if you see it the American Way(TM). So I'm sure the rest of us in the EU are counted as terrorists too just to be on the safe side.
They do sell Linux systems, and they support it. Our PowerEdge 2500SC at work runs RedHat, and they have a very responsive mailing list for support. Phone support is also available.
There is some page about Linux at their site, posted in a message somewhere above or below this one.
you cannot say "you cannot use this under WindowsXP."
Are they saying you can't? I think not. All they're saying is: "if it doesn't work on XP, don't come to us for help."
Nothing wrong with this, using software developped by volunteers should not be considered a right, but a privilege. You encounter something you don't like, you fix it.
I bet the FreeCraft author wouldn't mind if someone came forward to maintain the WinXP port.
This is almost a just-as-good flamestarter as is 'why is Mac better than PC?':)
Supposedly vinyl sounds 'better' (has more warmth) than CD's.
I happen to agree, but mostly because I like mixing techno, and vinyl is just more fun and better to handle.
If you're running a business, you don't go to Angelfire. In fact, I doubt if they allow anything commercial at all. If you're using someone else's building (for no cost, mind), this person certainly has the right to kick you out if he feels "too many people have come by".
No matter where you went, when looking out to the 'edge' you'd see red shift all the way down to infinitely long wavelengths.
The universe, in effect would appear to have an 'event horizon'.. a 'Black Sphere', if you will, beyond which nothing would be visible.
Sounds like Doom and the 'hall of mirrors' effect.;)
Once the base system is up and installed (including/etc/apt/sources.list), the best "installer" is
apt-get install [name of software I need] (repeat as needed for all your preferred applications)
It will get all dependencies and the like for you.
Setting up the base system is not too hard and only a few questions need to be asked (timezone, partitioning,...). That and "apt" is really the best installer available for any Linux distribution at this time, IMHO. I'd never use anything but Debian again.
I agree. Mac software sucks goat, and MacOS X is the greatest failure after Windows XP.
However, debian-powerpc runs absolutelt =great= on my new iBook. Cool OS on cool hardware. Yay!:)

You are talking about patents, not copyright. Copyright just means 'I wrote this, so do not republish without permission'.
There's quite a few ads to see, but you are right about the one obscured nipple.. Such a shame.. ;)
Sound? In a vacuum? I don't think that would do much harm at all, since there is no air (or other gas) to set moving.
Fine, you just show me the center of something infinite...

Did anything ever go further than where Voyager 1 is now?
Noise, my friend. If your box sits anywhere near where you sleep, I think you'd turn it off too. And it saves (some) money.
