Well this brings it to the point... i liked the idea with the multiple-random servers more, and it seems a lot more secure than this because you acctually don't know which route your packets will follow.
Uhm many people are actually thinking this... but i don't think it's entierly true. I don't consider myself as a geek, but i spend a lot of time in front of a computer, but i also do sports, more or less regularly. Anyway it's a really good way get a break (no, not in a dark fitness room, that won't help alot:)
Have you actually tried without a swap partitioun? I don't know it it makes a change here, but i think it's worth a try if you've got enough RAM in you machine!
Mhm, I once had a similar problem with my monitor cable, where some pins were receded, too. I had to open the plug to pull them out again. I think the bent pins are not the problem as long as they are not pushed in!
Perhaps you could open the hd carefully (i don't know what model it is) so figure out the best way to do it, and try to pull Pin11 out again!
How do they want to penetrate deep into the earth with a nuke bunker-buster? hum, from what i've seen yet atomic bombs give away their force to the sides and upwards!? Anybody who's got a link to some technical details/explanations?
I agree. The story title was indeed misleading. "AMD MP Athlon: Daemonnews certified" would have been a better choice. The article itself is ok, it says "AMD Dual Processor Certified for FreeBSD
" and the certified-logo clearly shows the daemnonews name...
Well anyway, shit happens, and we all make mistakes;)
Sure. They test it, and tell you wheter it works or not. It's good to know these facts when you plan to buy a computer to work with a specific os. I mean, ok they're a news site and i don't think that AMD will post this to their site, but it's good to know that it works anyway!
Finally FreeBSD works fine with multiprocessor systems, the autor had no problems with his 2 Athlon MPs, that's really great. Finally, you can have a really powerful smp - FreeBSD server system for not too much money! The installation was completed with only one cpu, but a new kernel with the options SMP and APIC_IO enable both cpus.
Yes, this is a good mod_,it's a lot more flexible than mod_php4 and gives you more possibilities to do stuff. But what about security matters? Does it have anything to prevent people, using it on your webserver, to access files etc.?
So your one of those self-righteous losers who are unable (too stupid) to handle *BSD? hah. and therefore you just keep posting crap about *BSD, and wasting your time? perhaps you should f*uck your inflateable girlfriend/boyfriend the next time you plan to post trollish trash!
*BSDs are great os, and if you don't like it, skip it! Funny anyway that you're hiding behind an AC... that's typical!
Security is obscurity... is an old proverb that describes today's terrorists attitude very good, they try to hide their data in the really big mass of data floating trough the net every day. The U.S. have IMO a good chance of fetching up such information, when they do it the right way... but what is the right way?:-)
- I'm not stupid, but somethimes I do things that make me look stupid!
Dreamweaver is one thing why people have difficulties migrating from Windows to Linux/ I miss Dreamweaver a lot, but hopefully PhpMole will help us out of that lack. Of course there are a few great HTML editors for Linux, like bluefish, but these can't replace a good web-dev program like Dreamweaver!
I guess the name is ClosedBSD, because it closes the doors/ports for bad guys such as hackers... what a firewall is supposed to do. The name is basically an allusion to security...
First of all: NEtfilter/Iptables is Linux stuff, IPFW is from *BSD! I think iptables has a lot more features than IPFW, and of course, the syntax is different!
Another interesting thing is that the first Linux packet filter was a port (done by Alan Cox) from BSD's IPFW to (the Linux) Kernel 1.1!
do we really need n+1 floppy-based firewalls ? Perhaps yes, perhaps not... IMO it's better to get a 1gb harddrive to install the full freebsd distribution, not only a kernel and some stuff, because you'll have a lot more possibilities to play around with;) On the other hand, they're useful, if you need a firewall/gateway solution in very short time... for example in case of a harddrive failure, you put in the floppy, and your firewall/gw is back up and running in no time!
Seems to me like these guys should pool together and try to merge the best of everyone's toolset. Nope, there i can't really agree... it's very hard to mix different things together to get one good thing. Suppose you want to buy a new stereo, and you put together the best product from each of the big companies (f.e. the amplifier from JeVeCe, the MP3 player from sonie, the speakers from YXC)... when you put the thing together you'll experience a lot of problems due to incompabilities between the different parts. With software, it's the same, merging is tough and requires a big effort...
With the wavelength of the laser, the color varies! For example red has a wavelength of 622-780 nm and blue has a wavelenngth of 455-490 nm! Red Has the longest wavelength, followeed by orange, yellow, green, blue and violet which has the shortest wavelength! Refer to this document for further information...
In the end they'll send ships to every known and nearly habitable planet, because there a re sooo many unexplored planets waiting to be settled... sounds nice, but a little far away. but i think it's cool anyway.
Yep, I've seen this before, it happened with two web.de mail accounts which had both set up reply messages that the mail had arrived and guess what happened... but i think they've done something against it, at least i hope it!

Sure, but in which language? Perhaps we could ask them for language courses first

Yes, I want two o them, one to go to school, and one to make my room and some coffee ... that'd be great!
... pro's and contra's included.
But cloning seems to be a big subject nowadays, we're even talking in 2 different classes (at school) about it
Allchin isn't Bill Gates, and he isn't Steve Ballmer.

Of course he isn't Ballmer, he can't dance like a monkey
