"With that logic a user should not be able to send an email to a AOL user unless they use an AOL email client."
Thats what freemarket is made for, if any global user couldnt send mails to AOL customers then AOL customers would chosse another ISP or Mail server,so AOL sont do it because dont want to, but because can make customers angry.
But in this case they can ban over and over 3rd party software no matter what, the standard consumer dont care and thats the point after all, make money.

Not really, that would apply if the heatsink became biger while the chip keeped the same size, its like 1 (common chip size) - 1 (heatsink size) is 0, while 2 (new chip size) - 2 (heatsink size) also is 0, i guess the porblem isnt the heat but the backwards compatibility with other accessories... what isnt really like a porblem.
Too expensive and nothing really new, i would rather overclock my 32bit P4 processsor than getting a big same, but Madison sounds really cool, i can wait until 2004.
Windows is really secure, before the welcome screen is the most secure Os i have seen, but after booting ie, iss, outlook, well... better not to boot them... so is very secure as long as dont boot anything. *grin* very secure piece of crap that dont do a shit.
Evolution is what created human will, only the one who had "ambition or wants or desires" survived, and so on the "genetic will" started to grow, so as long as we dont create robots that create other robots by getting the mixed stuff (software, hardware) of the "fathers" who survived we wont see that "will" or "survive instinct" human had... all is genetic explained, and in theory can be simulated.
Walking in the mall is free... would you build a mall where everybody who hangs there can put stores for free?, again, i dont think so...

AOL owns the login servers and databses, so its not like an evil strategy, i mean, would you build a cinema where everybody can enter for free?... i dont think so...
