    Wow! This is for real! I guess this is how Lindows provides Windows compatibility. MS source is out there.

    I don't care if the case is ugly or not. What's bad is that the cooling system isn't powerful enough to let me overclock the CPU twice, as with the home-made nirogen thing discussed the day before yesterday.

    Use whatever is appropriate instead of /home

    You can also overwrite files with zeros (such as the ones that come from /dev/zero or /dev/null), but the problem is that after such procedure, by physically examining the disk, one can often reconstruct the pre-existing data WITH A CERTAIN DEGREE OF ACCURACY.

    If Microsoft is smart, they'll ignore this. Why? Well, they're losing around $150 USD per console, and they make the money from the games. If you buy your own high end PC, pay full sticker, and then buy their games, you're saving them money, and they're still getting their cut from the development fees for the game.

    If this is true, why wouldn't they just offer all of these XBox games under Windows? Because they WANT everyone to buy XBoxes so they would monopolize the market.

    I think those poor households without a computer should be given a choice: either get a free computer with a free OS or pay for the M$ licenses.

    BTW, maintaining Debian stable is extremely easy. If those folks get the system pre-installed, Debian is less likely to be broken during use than Windows.

    "Close call"? What are the actual odds of impact? No major country wipeouts by asteroids happened in the last few thousand years. What are the odds of Earth being destroyed by an asteroid in the next few decades? With every other third world country developing weapons of mass destruction, right now, we have bigger threats to worry about and spend money on.
