No kidding, the whole mess is like trying to patent a method of shoveling, even though you didn't invent the shovel. Not to mention that everybody and their dog has been shoveling that way for the last 15 years. Looks like someone needs money!

You think!!!! This thing is $799, you'd have to be pretty short on cerebral cortex to buy a computer with no hard disk for $799. Even "cows" have figured out how to get a real computer from Gateway, the same goes for Dell or Compaq. Don't even get me started on a homegrown system!!! They won't last six months in production, maybe not even three months. Let's see, I need to go get venture capital fo something. Hmm, how about an internet appliance that only does proprietary email, and has no built in display, all for $1000. Yeah! that's it, that's the ticket! Idiots like those guys are the reason the High Tech industry is in the toilet! Sheesh!

Yes: Reason - You are one hell of a lot closer to the bulbs in a tanning bed. Typical office space has nine foot ceilings, not close enough for the AVERAGE red-head to get a tan or burn! My thinking is either she's scamming, or she has another condition. I could not find any information on the web about the dangers of sunburn from ambient Full Spectrum lighting.

  4. Re:Borders Book Store on Full Spectrum Lighting - Is it any better? · · Score: 1

Sunburn is actually a radiation burn from several types of powerful radiation from the Sun. The largest contributor being photons in the UV light range, not in the visible spectrum. Full Spectrum lighting is simply running hotter, with a modified phosphor to achieve a more complete light spectrum. Yes, they usually produce more UVA and UVB than a standard bulb, but UV makes up a tiny % of total emissions(~1%), the energy levels produced don't cause them to travel far(24"), and the production drops off 3x faster than than the visible spectrum drops off over the life of the lamp. So, unless your girlfriend is so sensitive that 5 minutes uncovered in direct sunlight causes a bad burn, she might have some other condition she is reacting to. You're the clueless one! Linus Torvalds pronounces it "Lee-Nooks" which is "Linnucks" with a Finnish accent. After all, Linux WAS named after Minix, which means Linux is pronounced "Linnucks", get used to it! BTW You do sound like an amateur when you call it "Lye-Nix" HA! HA!
