Looks like a troll, sounds like a troll, smells like a troll, must be a troll.
The original article was about a man, that proportedly was jailed for "helping" another party when he "stumbled" across a security breech in a web site.
So, my post makes a corrilation, tied into the thread by #1 the original "good samaritan" concept and #2 the post I actually replied to.
So, Mr Troll, crawl back under your bridge, another billy goat will be along shortly.
No, government has no business taking those moral choices away from researchers, academics, and everyday joes.
Nor does government have a business in FUNDING these choices. I am a conservative. I believe that currently, the federal government, performs, funds, and medles in issues not EXPRESSLY within the scope of its authority as stated in the Constitution.
No where in the Constitution, is it mandated that the federal government should fund stem cell research.
That's versus "closed," or the conservative vision that government should step in and use the threat of force to coerce individual or social moral decisions.
You seem to be confusing conservatism with the Republican party.
New laws say you arent allowed to transport more than a certain amount of cash. They can just seize the cash, no crime, no nothing, just plain outright theft.
My company monitors "acceptible use"/security for some fortune 500 companies. We are held to the same "evidence collection" rules that the police are held to, IF, in our snooping we intend to turn the data/findings over to the police.
At the point that we know the data will be used in a legal setting, we have become agents of the state and the courts see us as being such.
If however, we are simply "protecting a communications system" then we can sniff all day.
Now, its a different story in South Carolina, and we have recently terminated 2 accounts in that state. That state has passed legislation, that requires the discoverer of child pornography to immediately contact law enforcement or be held liable under SC law.
Played through Max Payne last week, was thinking about doing the hard boiled level this week.
I really liked the engine, and the effects. The weapons were fairly realistic.
Now, they could have left out the crying baby and the nagging wife for the dream chapters. I truly got a headache from them. And, when the second round of wandering on a red line started, I considered uninstalling it and not playing again.
Other than that though, was a very nice game, a good purchase. I'll pass it off to my kid brothers, and it becomes a $25 per person purchase..*Grin*
No hardware problems here at all with it. Win2k, Ath 1.4, G400
Telocity, now DirectTVDSL, openly allows the use of servers on its adsl connections. I'm just hoping that all the lame Win2k users with open IIS on telocity dont make the admins/powers that be change their minds on the policy.
Shhhh...Dont tell my back.
We bought our office staff chairs worth around $400 each. Except mine. I got a $99 special from Office Depot. Sales staff dont get anything. Should be that comfortable at a desk, should be out selling!
I would say, yes.
We HAD NT systems here that ran for almost 5 years, with reboots only for service packs and hotfixes.
(As a side note, after receiving nearly 35 letters from the BSA and Microsoft, sent to us because we were developers and resellers and customers, offering us a "truce" and calling us all manner of names, we have removed all Microsoft Server products from our organization, have replaced them with Linux or BSD based systems. MS, F*CK you and your BSA Cronies! I dont care if it was a form letter, we were a bit more than offended.)
Basically, if you cant us MSN messenger, you can us email, or pick up the phone. I'm sure, when MSN messenger breaks down, its not on MS top list of priorites.
Actually, its a selling feature of Office XP collaberation potential.

You know why there's a Second Amendment? In case the government fails to follow the first one. -- Rush Limbaugh
Did they ever actually download anything?
Or was the claim based upon the directory listing?
/me ponders baiting the MPAA
terminated 2 contracts rather than accounts.
Better to clarify now then to get flamed later.
IANAL.

I want a refund of my time dealing with crappy slashcode problems here in the last few weeks.
It is SO reasonable that Taco and his crew come out and clean up sticks n leaves in my backyard to make up for the inconvenience I'v experienced.
I hear you.
Comments not being accepted for lameness, or because I type too quickly, or a missing field or some ass error.
Who let this new slashcode into a production environment? Was it ever really tested?
/me thinks it wasn;t

Well, Georgia is a bit stricter.
It is a felony to "enter a vehicle" no matter what you intent is, if you do not have permission.
So, if it is raining and you see a car with its windows down, and you are in the state of Georgia, do NOT open the door and wind up the window.
Interesting side thought I'v had.
What about good samaritan laws?
Can one be prosecuted in some states for finding a problem and NOT reporting it?
What about a linux distribution dedicated to gaming? Have suggested hardware list - have the appropriate libraries preinstalled.
Microsoft has got to accept the blame for this mess - It is their doing
And by that thinking, Linus is at fault for an OS that allows smurf attacks, malformed tcp packets, etc.
You cant blame MS for everything.

How about Afganastan? Talk to someone about your non-muslim religion, and get put to death. Doesn't matter if you are a native or a foreigner.

I miss Coke in bottles. Only can find the little 6 oz?? bottles in most places, if at all.
Course, gasoline was $.69 a gallon, milk was $2 a gallon, and Jimmy Carter was drawling from the White House.
I ran a PII-400 until about 30 days ago.
It still ran the new games I played, it still compiled my apps as quickly as I needed.
It did NOT however, lend itself to DV editing.
I finally broke down and bought a Athlon 1.4 with a new mb and memory (bundled got better deal).
No more funny audio quirks in rendered DV.
But I'm all for staying with the max speed you need.
3+ years on one processor made sense for me.
Kind of interested to see if this 1.4 will hold its own for another 3 years.
I would say, yes.

From earlier on in the FAQ:
Each number is the product of two large primes, similar to the modulus of an RSA key pair.
So, 4 factors,
1, unknown1, unkown2, and the test number itself.
Only need to submit the 2 primes from the middle pair.
Listen, Adobe, I'd buy it.
No problem paying for decent software.
hahahaha
Everytime you pop up a MSN IM window, it reminds you not to give out that kind of information.
Actually, its a selling feature of Office XP collaberation potential.
I still cant get on. Its been coming and going over the last few days. I can get into hotmail, but had trouble getting some downloads this morning.
