I was reading this article, and looked over at my wife, and told her i found out why I am not feeling creative anymore. Bad idea! Anyway, I was sitting here thinking this over for a while, and it came to me, this study may be true for a small number people but not the majority, as far as I can remember Linus is married with 3 kids . This encourages me to not stress out about being creative again, hopefully one day it will come back to me, how i miss it.
I think my problem is, I have to many intrests and can't settle on just one.Plus being a daddy to a little girl takes up a lot of time!
During my busy day, I (sometimes) do not have time to RTFA (I "SHOULD" be able to trust the author summary, for a summarized "ACCURATE" summary of the article), as it is now pointed out this is not a patent for Video on Demand directly. As for your nit-picking about the "pay" every time you demand part, I will ignore you as you obviously missed the point in general I was trying to make, and spend all your time on slashdot pointing out little inaccuracies in other peoples posts (I unfortunately don't have all day to argue over very minor things). I was simply trying to make a generalized point about what was going on involving prior art on VOD and Microsoft. Thanks you and good day.
Not that I want to replace one big corporate entity with another in this situation, but Comcast, or for that fact any major cable company has had prior art on this for at least the past 10 years that I can remember with Pay Per View( which is streaming video on demand) or Video on Demand which allows you to pause.
This is very stupid, I can understand a patent for a certain algorithm used for compression, delivery, etc, but patenting a very basic concept is stupid. I say a patent should at least involve some form of merit and credibility behind it. Our government has been disappointing me for 21 years and I see no change in sight.
After some very brief research I can find prior art that dates back to 1974. Click Here [museum.tv]
I called the number and you are correct sir. Does anyone know the reasoning behind this? Perhaps SCO at one point (but now dead in the water) was going to start offering their own version of AIX/Linux. I don't think this could just be a freak event that their sales line is 1-888-GO-Linux which is 1-888-465-4689, which spells nothing else out that I can see off the top of my head besides Go-Linux.
I would say(ask) the following questions to the reviewer:
1) Which Platform did you test?
2) The camera angles were easy with a mouse. I had no trouble at all especially with the follow camera feature on. It even had different follow modes like Zelda.
3) Daphne's voice can be turned off on the settings.
It's sounds more like if this reviewer spent a little more time getting familiar with the settings, they wouldn't be so negative on it.
5 Years is very true !
2 Years as A PC Tech at Best Buy.
1.5 Years as a Admin-Developer for a Game Dev/Publisher.5 Years as a Dev-Analyst at another Software Company.
1 Year at my current job.
You may find it hard to belive but I don't.I am the one living it. I was home schooled and graduated at 15. I immediatelly started working at Best Buy, true Best Buy is not the greatest of jobs but it's a foot in the door. I have a family now and I feel I have had just as much "life experience" as any 25 year old.
As for background, MCSE, RHCE, working on CISCO.
Starting college this spring.
First off I apologize for my grammer. Secondly I have 5 years real world experince and I am not talking about running some pethetic highschool network.
I was home schooled and graduated at 15. I got my first real full time Job at Best Buy Inc as A PC Tech, I worked there for 2 years. Then I worked at a Game Development company for 1.5 years. I then worked at another Software Developemnt company for.5 years and have worked at my currecnt job for 1 year. That is 5 years of real world experience.
Third, I have my 6 month review that says other wise. I got almost all good remarks, true I got the usuall, late a few times, everyone gets that, but there is always room to improve IMHO, and I am not claiming to be anything I am not.
I dont have a college degree but have started back to school to pursue my CS degree. I do have my MCSE, RHCE and am currently pursing some Cisco certification, but like others have said nothing is as good as a college degree except a college degree and I 100% agree with that.
Lastly and I stress this fact would all the trolls and flamers that have no sound advice, just not say anything at all ? That would be nice.
Oh, and one last thing, I am not one to sue for millions of dollars I am simply talking if they fire me because of my age I would simply want enough severance to take care of my family.
