If you hadn't invoked Goodwin's law, I'd probably point out that there are many who view that editorial decision as misguided for much the same reason. But you did, so I won't.
But the article shines no light on the cockroach, instead putting a spotlight on the mess it made, while applauding the impressiveness of the feat.
The article surmizes that the writer is "no longer satisfied with short-lived notoriety or simple mischief". Giving the writer the notoriety she craves by calling her the 42nd most powerful person in technology only spurs her on.
There isn't one. The AC is pulling it out of her ass. Also, I'm married, not an idiot, and naturally cute, so I could give a fuck about appearing sensitive to women on an anonymous geek forum. Of course it is left to you to figure out my gender. You get 2 guesses.
Interestingly, though it's not a particularly creative example, "MARXIST REVOLUTION" is an anagram for "MATRIX REVOLUTIONS", as well as "MARX REVOLUTIONIST".
Other fun ones:

SURREAL VOMIT TOXIN

Sounds like advice for terrorists;)
Maybe we'll be able to identify them by their tinfoil hats now?
How many van Goghs were recognized as such during the time the man was alive? You'd think at least one, but it was, discounting the opinions of his family and Gauguin, zero. Bad example, friend.
I'm sorry. I didn't realize I was communicating with one of those special people who are differently abled when it comes to making contextual inferences. I hope I didn't hurt your feelings.
That was my point. If all corporations exist to make money, non-profit corporations would not exist. Yet they do.
That's not a point. That's pedantic hair-splitting. The poster was clearly (to everyone but you) referring to for-profit corporate entities. And as far as the personification of "the legal entity which is a corporation" goes, the Supreme Court is about 117 years ahead of you. See Santa Clara County v. Southern Pacific Railroad Company.
Only so long as it is seen as a problem. When we see that being "out of work" (i.e. eceonomically coerced into spending your time enriching others rather than pursuing your own interests) is actually a solution, maybe we'll be able to abolish work once and for all. Let the machines provide for us! Automate all trivial tasks! The non-trivial (engineering, politics, scientific research) tend to be rewarding enough to the minds and spirits of those that pursue them that they will never lack for those that would do so. The time has come to do away with our capital based economy and move on to a society based on pure merit.
IBM abandoned like idea, of holy copper sheets between processors as temperarature transients cause the damm things to unplug/bad pin connectons over time
Huh. I thought they abandonded the idea because the pope was too busy to bless copper sheets all day.
My internal images of the characters are still dominated by Ralph Bakshi's animated version, particularly the hobbits. Fortunately the narrative and charcterizations of that version have been wiped from my mind through subsequent readings.
Not if you're viewing slashdot lite, which I am. And even if I weren't, the point still stands. Somewhere near the beginning of the review, within its body, the author's full name should be given.
What about the big pussy joke guy? I'd vote for him if he ran on a platform "All big pussy jokes, all the time".
You can get SCP for windows from PuTTy. There's a GPL graphical frontend called Secure iXplorer from i-tree.org.

Oh, wait...
Not much point on so many levels...

Stroking the ego of a virus writer, way to go. I'm sure that'll entice her to stop.

Congradulations. First necro-homo-mallard troll. Well done.
I've got a crappy dial-up connection, so it's taken me 7 months just to get to the_matrix_176.iso. I should be done by 2006, I think.
Can I accept for you when you are honored with a Darwin Award?
You forgot to mention that this law does not apply while in San Francisco.

You're a funny bastard.

The flamebait rating does not imply a measure of success, merely an acknowledgement of an attempt.
