A friend of mine approched me with the problem (he bought one of these things) about 2 months ago. He asked me if there was a way I could get Linux running on one of these. If so He could prove legit use of this device. I have tried to no avail. anybody up for getting together on this project?
Also as a note. He also purchased a addon for his reciever as it seems he was told directv could remotly zap his card without it. anybody know how this works?
I'm intrested in how this will turn out. My question is why plasma as opposed to a huge crt?
is it the flat screen? I thought crt was better quality anyway.

No. they only want to stop the p2p people who make money off it all. The same ones who install spyware with their installers
I just gotta ask. What was wrong with the old copyright law that needs changing so bad?
Look for NAIM. Its what I use. You need the ncurses library of course. Its simple and it works all on the command line.
Ummm. On my system I had to use....
mpg123 -s file.mp3 | oggenc -r -o file.ogg -
oggenc likes to know its getting raw input
