The thing is though, when it comes down to it, I wouldn't trust any minimum requirements (or guarantees thereof) untill any product is finished. It happens all the time in the game world, and there is no reason it wouldn't happen in the OS world. Software like this takes years to develop, hardware moves pretty damn fast. You can't be focusing on obsolete hardware if you want full support of new hardware.
People need to look into things before they invest in something. If you don't, you get screwed, but if you didn't do the checking in the first place, who's fault is that?
What are you, a moron? No cop goes to a protest looking for trouble. Cops hate protests because they can go from peaceful to all out war in a matter of seconds. They come armed to the teeth because they need to be. They're outnumbered by at least 20 to 1. It's very hard to take on a crowd of angry people with nothing more than a club. Just ask the LA police about crowds.
However, and I don't recall the specific case, I do believe the US supreme court has previously ruled that the advocationf of violent rebellion against the government is not protected speech.
I would definately recomend getting it, but just be careful with your computer as well. Apple care only really covers failures and not damage. So if you break something, they don't have to cover it (and may or may not).
Of course, if you actualy paid attention to anything, you would know that Appe has a windows version slated for rollout at the end of the year, and said so the same day they rolled out iTMS
Somehow I get the feeling that if he died in the next 10 minutes, someone he knows would either continue the development or offer the code for sale. Jeezuz, if you're so hung up on the opensource, stop wasting your fucking time posting on slashdot and start writing your own sim.
There are still differences. Real's service is pay per burn ( and people don't like that) and Buy's service changes how many times you can burn on each individual song (and people don't like that). Apple is a one time cost, with unlimited burns FOR EVERY SONG. Untill somone comes up with something better, Apple's service is going to be the favorite.
They probably could sue. A commercial is copyrighted material, and I doubt they could have this protected under parody law because it doesn't appear to be a parody.
Not only did they copy the look and feel (and badly) I saw their TV commercial earlier today. They're looking to get sued by apple. The commercial is practicaly a 1:1 copy of the apple commercials. The only difference is that they use more than one person singing per commercial and they aren't singing while listening to iPods.
However, if the airline feels that common safety will be in danger it takes precidence over your individual right. Your right ends where someone elses begins. You have a right to be armed, which should include carrying a gun on a plane, however, the safety of the other passengers (their right to life) is of overriding concern.
There is a difference though, the act of demanding or forcing one into sexual favors is illegal because it violates the rights of the other person. You are constitutionaly granted a right to be secure in your person. Forcing you into sexual favors is a violation of that right and is illegal according to law. However, a security survielence of you, in a private establishment (or on private property, and within reason) is not illegal. And technicaly speaking, as long as it was not a change of a current contract, but a new contract, he should indeed be able to put that in the contract assuming you willingly agree to the contract.
Unfortunately for you, you have no RIGHT to fly. You are granted the privalige to fly by the company who owns the plane, you do not have a RIGHT to fly however.
You are confusing a tool with a crime. The camera's in and of themselves are not illegal. Nor is their recording you (to an extent) however, the actions you describe are illegal and as such merit punishment. But your argument is essentialy the equivilent of All cops have guns, but one of them can go crazy and go on a killing spree so they shouldn't be allowed to have guns.
However, in america we are of course talking about a representative democracy here, in other words, you are represented to the president by your elected officials.
What hoops? Free reg on the ADC (www.apple.com/developer) and a download of the developer tools, install. At least, I think that's how gcc, g++ and the java compilers got installed on my computer. I certainly didn't jump through any hoops to get them.

Not much of an anarchist if he can't stand up to his principles is he?

Slashdot really need a -1 moron moderation
Just convert your files to MP3, no DRM, no licence checks, and you can remix the sounds.
The point was you shouldn't have to try
Yes, but try playing a DVD you bought on your trip to London here in the good ole US of A

Are you kidding? If they started mandating sky marshals, can you imagine the pulic outcry?
Not only is BIG BROTHER watching you, but now he and John Ashcroft are sending out the foot soldiers to keep you in line.
You can request all you want, but unless you own the bus, you have no athourity.
Slavery is illegal by law, survielence is not

Discrimination based on sex gender and a host of other attributes is illegal by law. Security survielence is not.
It is not a 'nessesity" it is a highly important convienience, but it is not a "nessesity"

But when you consider the ammount of money that has gone into R&D over the past while, the profit isn't as high as one would like it to be.

Though if they have enough time to get into the internals of an iMac or an eMac you've got bigger problems on your hands.
Now laptops are another story....
