What you have to understand, what the American people have to understand, is that we're at war. The fact that we're talking about these vulnerabilities simply emboldens the enemy.

wow. I agree with your steps 1-6, but everything you wrote above that is complete and total bullshit. NOBODY - President and FBI included - has the right to do whatever they want, whenever they want. There's a reason we have laws that require a warrant, and it's to protect our civil liberties. I don't care if there is some so-called-war-on-terror going on, you follow the damn rules. The FBI agents obviously tracked down a lead to the library - there's no reason they couldn't have gotten a warrant on the way there.

If you start giving the goverment a free pass on things like this, who's to say what's next?

I installed the last release candidate, and what I read on the MS support forums is that this is an OEM ONLY release - the only way to get it is with the purchase of some MS-approved hardware from an authorized dealer.

The MS reps on the support forums did let everyone know that you could simply buy a $2 cable from a dealer, and then purchase the x64 release at the same time legally - you don't have to purchase a new computer with an x64 processor.

Then again, if your name is Phelps or Thorpe, you're spending a little more time in the water than that.

Some nice interface changes in the Windows version. The title bar is more mac-like (there's a whole different set of options available if you right-click the title bar), and you can minimize the app to the tray, instead of the task bar, and you can keep iTunes on top of other windows all the time.

Also, there's an option to "Make programs recognize iTunes as WinAmp". I'm hoping I can use that in conjunction with MovableType and Zempt to add a "Now Playing" feature to my weblog entries.

I had a subscription to Safari about 8 months ago. I only kept it for 2 months, but while I had it, it was pretty useful.

At the time, I was trying to "expand" my skillset, so I got to have access to several virtual books on one subject - for the same price as one physical copy. I also kept a few reference books in my virtual library - again, cheaper than having a hard copy sitting in the shelf.

In the end, it was only useful for me while I was learning new things - I didn't see it as a long-term solution.
