  1. Google on What Makes a Good Web Design? · · Score: 2, Insightful

Look at google. Google has one of the best website designs in the world. It is simple and loads quickly. The website looks clean and is easily navigated. Go for the minimalist approach on a website. It will probably save you money and bandwith when there are thousands of people who want to see your website every because it is so great.

  2. Re:Why do all the games seem to use IPX for lan pl on Slashback: Bundestux, Kerberos, Blizzard · · Score: 1

It uses UDP/IP a slightly different protocol than TCP/IP. One of the differences between the two is that UDP does not gauruntee that packets will come in order unlike UDP/IP. Think of UDP/IP as a protocol where you need to implement your own rules for packet loss and such and TCP/IP takes care of it for you. If I am bullshitting please correct me.

  3. Why does everyone hate rambus? on Is Rambus Destined to Return? · · Score: 1

I've noticed that alot of slashdot posters hate rambus with a passion. Why is this? I have not really been paying attention to the history of rambus vs. DDR. Other than hearing stuff with "rambus sucks" or somthing like that in them. Could someone post an article or explain the history of rambus and why people hate it?

  4. The best webcomics are free on Webcomics As Business Model · · Score: 2

Just take a look at www.sexylosers.com must be 18 or over. In my opinion the best webcomic ever made. Of course its not a marvel comic or anything like that. It is a comedy strip that comes out once a week.

This quote scares me: There's nothing more grand, more worthwile, and more deserving of our respect than profit. Nothing. I seriously hope you do not believe this. There are things which do not cost anything but have lots of value. take linux for example. Also am I to Respect the latest megabucks winner and hail him as a shinning example of what humanity can achieve? Am I to respect Organized crime and drug lords who enslave their own population for money? I encourage you to rethink your position. while looking at the economic viewpoint of things is somthing alot of the slashdot community lacks. It should not be the only viewpoint you have.

  6. I pirate software on Adobe Considers Withdrawing from Asian Markets · · Score: 2, Insightful

    On Pirating software:
I myself pirate some software titles. Yet even I can see that this article is not about Adobe trying to stop piracy. Adobe's products are aimed towards businesses and professionals, not home users. I personally dont think they expect a home user to pay the $600 for the software. In fact they probably dont mind piracy by the home user because it would extends their user base. However I do think they expect someone who makes money from the software to pay it. The artists are the people who Adobe makes photoshop for. If you are an artist who has the cash it is probably in your best interest to pay for the software. Adobes continued existance would be a good thing for them.

On the discontinuation of asian localization:
Adobe is losing money when they localize the software. If they continued to localize while losing money it would go against all business logic. does 2+2=5? Also Asians can localize the software themselves. If some korean was using OS X and an adobe app used .nib files then all that is needed is to change some strings since OS X supports nearly all language formats.
