  1. Re:Music is Art on RIAA Warns Individual Swappers · · Score: 1

First of all, he at least used his nic you are an anonomous coward. Secondly Everyone is out to get something for nothing and everyone rips everyone else off. Musicians = Overpaid (same as actors, athletes, etc.., etc..) They make no contribution to the real world and give themselves awards and pat themselves on the back every other fucking month. THe RIAA has been a party to ripping musicians and consumers off for years and now the tables have turned. Noone seems to like it when the bullshit they have done to people for years turns around and bites them in the ass. If musicians want to get paid, they should get back to basics and start playing live....selll their music and other garbage at the show and cut out the middle man, but no...they want the big upfront paycheck, the leased cars , jewelry, nd houses...and they want to be indebted to record labels till they cut 3 or 4 good albums so the labels make their mooney back. I could go on for days, but I wont. You sir are the moron. You talk just to hear yourself talk. If i had to guess..you are either a blind ass musician or a member of the RIAA. It doesnt matter I for one have bought hundreds of CDs in my time. Combined they may have 10 good songs and 250 filler songs. If a band can make three hits...those will be spread out over three albums and sold for $20 a piece. I will however download the shit I want for FREE. Cha Ching!, and maybe someday I will pay to download just the single I want, but not if they are going to restrict me from burning or whatever. What is the point of having paid for it if I cant do what i want with(With the exculsion of sharing). Have you never taken anything without permission. Stealing is stealing whether a pencil or a car (or a song) it is still stealing. Think about that before you judge!

  2. Re:Good on UK Govt Warned: Don't Buy GPL · · Score: 1

Do you work for microsoft????? I agree that open source is not a good business model. However the only good business model is one that makes money. They(UK), however are trying to save money. PHP, MySQL and many other pieces of software are open source and they work very well and do what they say they are going to do. I dont know about you but Winodws has yet to do all the things that Microsoft says it is going to do. Now if Microsoft changes their advertising to say that Windows will crash( All the fucking time), That Microsoft will spy on you and then profit from your information, and that they will rob you blind with licensing fees then Windows will definately do what Microshit says it will do. You sir are a moron, and others like you are morons. If you would pull Bill Gates dick out your mouth long enough to see that he and many other greedy fucks like him are robbing you blind while selling you inferior crap then you might sing a different tune. If im going to get shitty software, you can bet your ass I would much rather get it for next to nothing where I have the right to alter andshare and do what I please with it as opposed to paying for crap. P.S. I agree LINUX sux, but not for why you think. It sucks because there are too many players....and each distribution feels the need to pack 5 cd's of crap with it. It takes days to go through all of it to decide what you want and dont want. They should just have one or two flavors and package only the best software out at that time. Other than that as soon as companies realize they need to write drivers for multiple platforms and not just for the Almighty AllPowerful Microsoft it'll be great. P.S again...By the way did I mention You are a MORON! :-) Have fun with your Windows...!

I agree....Technology is supposed to make life easier; however, you must factor in greed, republicans and the fact that this country let alone the entire political world whether capitalist, communist etc, etc.. is ruled by the almighty buck. So it doesn't matter what people think, how much they bitch or whatever. All that matters are the politicians and the lobbyists with the most money. Thats all! I for one do not care. I do not vote because no matter who is elected they all have seperate agendas...none of which coincide with what the people want, only what they want. I will continue to download music (for free)....use free software or software I obtained for free and fuck everyone else who thinks otherwise. No Law will prevent that...and no amount of protection/ encryption will stop me or the rest of the world that believes the same.

He is a moron, and there is no sense getting worked up over something so insane. The idea to give people the right to destroy someone elses property would yield far more disasterous results then some bullshit copyright infringement. I gaurantee that any such power would quickly turn on those who developed and choose to use it. Thank you to h4X0rS!

I agree that QBASIC is a waste of time; However, if you are slow to grasping the concepts of programming then QBASIC could help. Not everyone programs just for the sake of getting a job and becoming more "marketable". Those types of programmers usually are the ones scrambling to change their majors to law or english or something when they hear terms like "the dot.com bubble burst" or they hear tech jobs aren't paying what they used to that is if you can get one at all. As for me I write code because I love it and I will eventually go to school for it but write now I work in a bullshit factory and just enjoy hacking when im not at work.

PHP is more than just web development. I dont know anythign about Perl or Python, but from what I have seen is PHP can do anything I have evr asked of it. Perl has been around a lot longer. You can also write desktop Apps wtih PHP-GTK just like Perl-GTK so I truly believe that this is great time to get involved with PHP. Hopefully PHP will make ASP a thing of the past soon. :-)

Que's "QBASIC by Example", is a good book. However QBASIC bored me. I wanted to see reults right away so I started with HTML which isnt a program language (Markup Language); however after learning it and it limitations I decided to learn PHP. PHP is easy once you learn HTML and really adds a new dimension to your web pages. As I learned that I also learned MySQL so that I can store information into databases. I've learned all this in about a year. This also gave me a new found love for Open source software developement. So much in fact that I have converted one PC to LINUX and I am currently developing an Open Source CMS called Nitrous that I hope to put on the web for download soon. Other good books that I have found are the O'Reilly series of books. Hope this helped.....

I didnt say it was cool to steal music. What I said was BoyCott...can you read? I also said that the RIAA has been ripping off Consumers..and most Importantly the musicians..and now the tables are turning. What I suggested is that musicians , if they want paid for their hard work, should be to return to their roots and to also use new technology (ie internet, etc..) to spread their music...and to cut out the middle man "Big Business" ie the "problem"...the Recording Industry. Noone said, including myself, that stealing is right. The problem won go away with lawsuits, jail time, etc... Has murder, drug use, or other crimes gone away. No!. Im just saying that the musicians need to change the way they do things...and we should boycott anything coming from the RIAA...thats all

  11. Talk about missing the point....... on Verizon Set Back Again in DMCA Subpoena Case · · Score: 1

For years now the RIAA has been ripping off the consumer, and as many musicians would tell you, even the musicians. Charging over inflated prices for one hit and 19 filler songs. They own the airwaves and use that to push the CRAP they sell. They are just aother big business just like the Telecoms that have been lobbying the goverment for year to pass laws that help them to further rip off consumers "LEGALLY". Now ("Techies, GEEKs, Hackers, Crakers, etc, etc..") own the world now...and we make the rules. The RIAA is just bitching because now the tables are turning. F&CK them.. I say Boycott music. Musicians need to go back to their roots. Cut out the RIAA and start performing again. Make their money at venues. Sell their CD's at their shows. And use the internet to spread the word. If they are good...It will become known. If they suck, much like the crap that the Big 5 push, then they wont. There is so much great music out there we dont know about because of the RIAA. It is time for them to go!
