As someone that used to lead teams that did this kind of work, too little attention was paid to the thoroughness of the testing by both client and testers. "What is supposed to be tested", "what was tested" and "what were the results" were simple questions that I would ask but testers and client were only interested in "what vulnerabilities were found". I could have 100 interesting findings but have only tested 1 out of 10 components that were supposed to be tested - and that was fine! You should make a list of what you want tested and demand that you be told what was tested and what were the results of those tests.

I recently had to get Canon to replace my PowerShot A70 with a A530 (better res, flimsy camera body) because the image sensor was defective. It was a known defect but they couldn't come up with the replacement part for 2 months.
I submitted my resignation today. I was in a job that bored me to tears after I accepted an offer for a position that pays 20% less. I am emotionally erect that the prospect of having a challenge in my job again.
A sysadmin buddy got a new barbeque. At his house warming, we set put it together and lit it. The flames were half an inch high. He said he'd shut it off and start it again. We told him that it wasn't MS BBQ(tm) and it wouldn't work.
So he did it. And it worked. Fsck.
All we did is increase the amount this generation and all future generations pays into our program so the previous generations can receive more benefit than their contributions could ever possibly be imagined to provide!
Bankrupt the next generation! Live in a dream land!

So... Mark... you have started a letter writing campaign? Sent an email to Sheila? Anything? I'm proud to be Canadian but I am so tired of Canadians that just whine and do nothing. Stop complaining and do something! Anything! I'm sending email messages to all MPs and asking my local MPP how much money the provincial government will be giving with this levy with it's purchase of CDs, etc for backing up government data.
