Actually this is nothing new, similar devices already exist for marine bologists on a smaller scale for very precise underwater measurements using 2 or 3 bouys the recieve and relay the GPS signals to a device a diver has.
Talk about over rated, this isn't a story, as a poster pointed out, google just has to inject an audio message asking for a 1 to connect, or 2 to reject/flag as spam and there is no problem...
Slightly different argument, I agree that we should 100's if not 1000's of TLDs, too many conflicts worldwide to do away with TLDs at all, but since we have to deal with things as is, I disagree with.tel as a purely political and monetary grab, and there is no technical reason to have a seperate TLD just for this purpose...
Why do we need yet another TLD, this is purely a political land grab, e164.org already has proven you don't need a special TLD to do this, we have a large dataset already in operation and working.
Jeff Pulver has been pushing.tel since 2000 and yet he could have built up his own zone to do this with less effort and money...
Perhaps widespread installation was actually the real motivation with this ban?
What better way to get the people to use it then telling them they can't?
ntpdate is mostly for bootup, what I don't understand is why distros that install ntpdate by default, don't also install ntp-server or ntp-simple which does run every x mintues to keep the clock in sync...
Not to mention the debarcle over punycode domains and Verisign not following RFC security guidelines to normalise domains before they allow them to be issued, seems they have a lot of fingers in a lot of pies at present to gain a lot of money from a lot of dubious practises....
Ever tried removing these certificates out of MS IE on winXP, they buggers just keep getting downloaded and reinstalled and so far I don't know any way to disable this "feature"
ok a few pointers, 1 this is an intranet, and all likely hood won't have much if any official direct/indirect internet access as this is a very grey area of the law and the ACA is the likely to stop us any way, however this said, a group in perth have a dsl link to WAIX (western australian Internet eXchange) for local to that location traffic, basicly any ISP/biz linked into that building. Thanks to who ever posted this as the site has recieved an overwhelming response will help trying to convince companies to help sponsor/support our little project. Once we have our first AP up, there will be a testing/meeting day to be announced, so we can all get togeather and really tryout the tech in the area. So stay tuned to http://www.sydneywireless.com for future updates.

Yes you can fake ANI, you just need an account with a VSP and off you go... all it costs is 1 to 2 c per minute usually...
This is only going to effect Skype users, other VoIP systems using hardware devices don't use a PC and can't get infected.

Microsoft Pillows in Australia, Microsoft (the software company) has had 2 lawsuits against and lost both of them...
AIM and ICQ interconnect these days, so having one account lets you talk to subscribers on both...
