We get most our stuff from sunfreeware, php and some other apps end up being source jobs, but I keep a list of my./configure options for each app so configs stay the same between version switches
Double check your sed, I was having trouble this summer compiling PHP4 on Solaris 8, installed the kitchen sink of gnu tools (including gsed) and things started working again. Does anyone actually use sun's tools (tar, sed, awk, vi) anymore, the gnu (or vim) versions are much better.
Hell, if you are wanting Myrinet on the cheap, check out Flat Network Neighborhoods. Lots of 100Mb/s cards and lots of switches, wiring them is a bitch but it works. PCI bus saturation is an issue in some applications, but PCI-X and/or Hypertransport should solve them.
Fixing 20 and 25 years of shitty leadership, respectively, can't be done in 2 days, 2 weeks, 2 months or even 2 years. How long did it take to get (West) Germany and Japan back up to pre-war levels of GDP, 10 years, 20? I also fail to see the rapid sucesses in Somalia, Haiti, and the former Yugoslavia. Saddam was a problem Bush 41 left 12 years ago, even his son wasn't going to correct the situation until 3000 Americans ended up dead. Saddam has worked on WMD, he has supported terrorist regime, and he and his sons are far worse war criminals that Milosoveich ever dreamed of being. Given time, Iraq will be the jewel of the middle east and cause the downfall every brutal regime in the region, from Iran to Lybia.
When enough human doves cluster, they become the power greater than the world's greatest superpower: Peace. Tell that to the people who suffered under the heel of Saddam in Iraq and the Mullah's in Afghanistan. Peace built on a foundation of oppression is not just, it is ignorance by those who only see the evil in war, not the benefits when it is used justly.
...and for Joe MadDog 20/20 to sell his vote. You don't get a copy of your "mark x for Fred", punch card, or your lever machine results, why should electronic machines be any different. Paper copies leaving with the voter will only breed corruption.
Experienced nuke engineers have been on the open market for the last 12 years, 59 counting spies that sold out the Manhattan project to the commies in the first place. There is a lot of knowledge out there if the price is right.
Nukes, nukes, and more nukes
Testing/developing a nuke program is much easier on a supercomputer than attempting live tests like the USSR, USA, France, Red China, and the UK did back in the 40-70's. Infact, a test detonation by a "unknown" would be sufficent grounds for a beat down by those countries or your neighbors (see Israel vs. Iraq, 1981) India and Pakistan have been allowed nukes mainly as a local deterent to keep 1-2 billion people from dying in South-Central Asia in the Indo-Muslim war that has been brewing for 50 years .
It matters what kind of whistleblowing you are doing, ratting out Enron so TimeWarner can sell magazines gets you on the cover (See person of the year last year), whistleblowing on faulty copy protection that hurts the bottom line of Time Warner will get your ass sued.
Long live Stop-A You sir have been the source of much grief for many people, including me. We had a nice (at the time) sun workstation lab at UK, 20 sparcstations 5's, 10's and 20's each one also allowed telnet login's. I was doing something for Intro to C remotely, and the ass at the term did a stop-a boot, lost my fscking project and he didn't even have the humanitity to issue a sync, corrupted my fscking files. I'd love to hunt that SOB down.
Pansies, it is urbanites like that that piss me off. It used to be, you bought an SUV b/c you had the triple requirements of more than one (small) child, needed 4WD to get your job(s) done, and needed the ground clearance of a truck. SUV's cost about the same as the truck packages they were based on (1/2 or 3/4 ton shortbed trucks) and could be bought without 4 10-way powered and heated captains chairs . Fast forward to today, a full-size truck-based SUV with a V8 costs more than my parents house did 20 years ago and it is those assholes that drove up the demand for them. Let them buy a pissant geo Tracker or Kia Rio so I can actually afford a decent truck.
Supposedly there was a way to operate the security curtains without power
No one had a baby-killing SUV to drive through the gate, I call shenanigans

Bingo, people forget that napster's death warrant was signed when AOL/TW got screwed three weeks in a row by insiders droping tracks online, Metalica, Dr. Dre, and Madonnna releases in Summer 2000 were all inside jobs but they went after the secondary offenders, not there own internal leaks.
Their one child/2 parents program (and the desire of having male children instead of female) has left a gap in available women which will lead to a population decrease in the very near future.
or Sim Japanese Internment camps or "Dresden Night Bomber" or SimAuschwitz, nope, they are considered to tasteless. Take me for example, I would love to have a MMORPG set in the age of exploration (1450-1754), but getting hookers, natives, catholic clergy, or slave traders/owners as player classes past the ESRB or off the wal-mart shelves would be damn near impossible. You'd have everyone from the Pope to Jessie Jackson chewing your ass.
13-17 year olds have served (in mainly support roles, they weren't handy in a bayonett charge) in every American action up until WWI, when the draft age was 18 and some signed early at 17.
Its dying on the vine, their population is about to hit a wall and they are implementing capitalism as fast as they can sneak it under the party bosses noses.
Thats the best laugh I've had in a year, thanks

That system would be fine, but the if the paper record is going to be considered authoritative, why not count those in the first place?

and a repeat, there was a platoon game for the NES, top down scroller if I remember correctly, like IKARI Warriors without the tanks.
