  1. Re:Does anyone else find this stuff boring? on 1.8TB Of Disk Space In A (Semi-)Normal PC · · Score: 1

me... i already have 4/5 of a terabyte in this computer, i've got my gig of pc1066 ram... i've got a l33t graphics card, and a huge monitor now what? i go to lan parties and have bragging rights... yep... there's nothing practical you can use that much stuff on a desktop... it just looks pretty sure, i do a little bit of sound work, for a radio show, which may warrant that much ram and storage; but that sure as hell wasn't my original intention for it all it started as a pissing contest, nothing more, and it bores me now so i'm buying a new computer again, this one, no better than the one i use now

  2. processor inconsistencies on Barebones Notebook · · Score: 2, Interesting

the site (http://www.ecs.com.tw/products/a980.htm ) there says that you can use northwood P4 cores (socket 478) AND socket 423 Williamettes... what the hell? last time i checked, they had different numbers of pins on them, and you had to buy a new mobo if you got suckered into getting a williamette, and still want to upgrade this would still be a neat LAN party rig... usb mouse and keyboard, get a decently big CRT or LCD screen... you'd have a really neat setup... no lighted cases or anything though

  3. Re:You may find this useful... on Barebones Notebook · · Score: 1

interesting how it says you can plug Northwood P4's (socket 478) AND williamette cores (socket 423) into it.... i was always believing they were different sizes and had a different number of pins on them next they're going to tell me that i can put coppermine celerons in it too and overclock it so far that i open a space/time contuoum rift in the fabric of the universe if i knew what was actually able to be put in these, they'd make a cool lan party computer... usb mouse, usb keyboard, 23 inch CRT monitor or decent LCD... you'd have the coolest looking lan gear... even over the Latte and Cappucino (see thinkgeek)

Also, there's still a couple people waiting on Duke Nukem Forever, and their patience is wearing thin. THAT'S why it's called Duke Nukem Forever I mean, come on, it's not called Duke Nukem Any Time Soon

  5. Ads? or art? on Product Placement in Video Games · · Score: 1

I like ads that are well placed in games (i.e. goodyear in a racing game; billboards in an urban setting, etc.) but useless product placent where it really doesn't belong is something that I find really dumb. If the Coca-Cola logo was just thrown in because they paid for it, that looks bloody retarded - but if it's thrown in "seamlessly" so that you barely even notice it's there, as in reality, I think it's rather smart from a development point of view. Everyone wins if it's done well - it's painful to play if not.
