"The whole approval thing makes it possible to get part of the (very costly) wheelchair price covered by medical insurances and the like, as I've understood things correctly anyway."

Yes, and what about safety? The Segway doesn't have to be Bush- *cough* fool-proof, the wheelchair has to be.

Any fast, unexpected motion (losing balance, falling, a quick jerk forward or backward) can have far-reaching consequences for the person using the device (think about neck and back strain).

Book vs. eBook = CD vs. MP3

Simple as that. It's cheap, easy, and people who don't want to spend money on stuff (students...) don't mind the lesser quality.

If it really becomes popular, portable ebook readers (PocketPC, ...) will become more popular too, just as portable MP3-players. Which will result in more portable devices to choose form, for a lesser price.

It's just a matter of time till a PIAA gets founded. The Printing Industry Association of America. Boy o boy.

About your price rizing thing... he mentioned artists (or their labels) making deals with Snapster, getting a certain fee for every time one of their songs gets played. So new music would be put on less CD's as it would be without Snapster 2.0 -- certainly raising the price - a negative effect for non-Snapster subscribers/owners. If the vast majority of mankind (the part that regularly listens to CD's anyway) would subscribe, that wouldn't be that big of a problem, but I doubt that will happen.
