  1. Smile internet bank on Online Banking And Browser Support · · Score: 1

I emailed Smile a few weeks back and got this suspiciously form-like reply:

Thanks for the message. Unfortunately smile don't use Mozilla, as we find Internet Explorer and Netscape are the most common browsers used. I'm sorry if this is of inconvenience to you. However, I've passed your suggestion on to our Quality Review Team. Customer feedback is always valued and changes are made as a result of this.

Disappointing, because ebanking is one of the few applications that keep me tied to Windows/IE.

On the other hand, the IRC client could disappear for all I care, and if dumping it would lose some of the bloat, I'd be all for it. Maybe the Mozilla dev team should consider making their product more modular, so components can be excluded.

You can choose which components to install. On the win32 version this is as easy as unticking boxes at the installation stage. I don't get it. Can someone please explain the problem?

Yes, it is a novel not a textbook. However, much of the IT industry would do well to consider Pirsig's thoughts on the 'Metaphysics of Quality'.

Arthur C. Clarke referred to a similar experiment in his book "Profiles of the Future" (1962) Monkeys had push-button controlled electrodes wired into the pleasure sections of their brains. These monkeys would press the button twice a second for hours on end, undistracted by food and sex.

It was also noted that an animal would behave with similar single-mindedness to turn OFF any current fed to its pain centres.

Just a short drive from Penistone you also have such places as Upperthong, Mark's Bottom, Netherthong, Dick Edge Lane, Bent Lane and Marsden Hard End. The area is kind of a censorship black hole.

Keyword detection is a notoriously poor filter method. Just ask the people of Scunthorpe.
