As an end user, I definatly prefer OSX over any Linux distro. Its easy to use, powerful, and best of all.. the interface is amazing. KDE, even in its latest stages still looks like an amatur piece of trash made by some 9th grader. Flame me all you want, but Aqua is leagues above that. Not to mention the support by 3rd parties. Office... Photoshop 7 and Illustrator.. truely amazing.
Oh and best of all, OSX is powered by BSD which in many people's eyes is the real UNIX core. I'll take BSD over Linux anyday.
This is very good news indeed. Hopefully this will be a HUGE lesson for Microsoft in regard on how it treats its conusmers..NET/Hailstorm from the start was overly sketchy and pretty damn intrusive. Why do we, the people who work hard for our money, be forced to use this garbage? Seriously. Why should it be when everytime someone boots up Money 2002 that you need a Passport to get in? Does Microsoft really have authority to have your money info? Hell no.
Now that Hailstorm is out of the picture, I hope the Xbox is next:)
To be serious, I could care less about DivX. It used to be a decent, fun, and "non corporate" codec but now they have gone down the prime shitter. With the release of DivX 5.0 and all of its spyware, I ended up saying "forget it" and stuck with 4.12. I guess it happens to everybody... started off being a couple of guys in their free time doing it for the love of the community (even if they totally ripped off the Micro$soft MPEG4 codec) and turned into a bunch of greedy, wannabe suits.
Sorry DivX Networks.. your time in the limelight is over. Time for a better codec to come around. adios
Just think about this.. if some small company like this tries some BHO or ActiveX component to make revenue the bastardly way, you can be rest assured that Microsoft will put an end to this in an Internet Exploer patch or whateva.
Don't worry about this. This company will be bankrupt, sorry, and downright pathetic in at least a month or so.
Well, I suggest phpMyAdmin from http://phpmyadmin.sourceforge.net for all your MySQL admin jazz.
It doesn't seem to get much simpler than that. Edit a few lines in your config.inc.php file and you are ready to go in like 5 minutes.:)
Use Mozilla :)

I bet Apple will have Apache 2.0 available thru their Software Update or whatever for the OSX Server.
They are usually pretty good with stuff like that.
