  1. Re:They are doing only doing it because you care on Pinnacle, Online Grades, Skipping School and More · · Score: 1

I don't think that living their lives vicariously through their children counts as "care". A good parent doesn't need to make every minor decision for their child to guide them to success.

A caring parent uses trust as their tool, not constraint.

  2. Re:Oh is that soooo? on Pinnacle, Online Grades, Skipping School and More · · Score: 1

I think you're an idiot. I aced all my classes without doing all my homework. Just because you are a dumbass that can't learn math without doing a hundred repetitive questions doesn't mean your child is. Your best bet is to, and this may be difficult from some parents, get to know your child. Are they doing well enough already? Then leave them be. They've obviously already figured out how to get things done and lead the life they want.

Judging from every other major paradigm change in the tech industry I'd say we're more than ready: when the change comes it will happen so swift it will seem as if we'd just been doing nothing but waiting for the opportunity.

I know, I've run the show on a few of them.

It's so good I paid for a year of mail plus. I didn't even do that for .Mac and I'm a os x geek.

what if what we think of cosmic background noise is in actuality encrypted data transmissions, meant to be indistinguishable from background noise?

Then it wasn't meant for us. We're not trying for a man-in-the-middle attack, we're looking for life explicitly trying to contact another civilization.

I propose we adopt Tremor as the name of Vorbis files.
