Unless, of course, the Chinese have developed some sort of non-Newtonian thruster system that lets their space trash hover in one place.
Um...my DirectTV satellite does just that. It's called a geostationary orbit. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geostationary_orbit. It has been around for quite some time and is used for most telecommunication satellite. It does require thrusters here and there due to debris, solar winds, etc... but for the most part it just sits in one place above the earth and appears stationary to an observer on the ground.
So, since they can sue Napster, Kazaa, Limewire, etc... for providing P2P, I suppose this means they will be suing Apple next for providing the software (iTunes) that allows us to rip our CDs.
That would be interesting.
That's what it looked like to me.
I don't understand this logic. I am taxed, by the IRS, at 36%, our top bracket. And yet, someone making only 40K or so will only be taxed at 15%, but most often even less after deductions which are much larger percentage at the lower wage levels. So, the real question is: Why is it fair that I pay a much larger portion of my wages than someone making less than me? A perfect case for a flat tax in the US. Not to mention that although I pay into all these programs, none of them are available to me, like tuition assistance. Why is it based on income rather than strictly merit? Why do I fund the program much more than those that actually get to use the money?
I started out back in 1998 as a developer making $60K for anywhere between 40 and 100 hours a week.
Before I was promoted to management, I was making $72K a year for 40 hours with a ton of perks.
Both jobs had good benefits and working conditions, but I do enjoy the pay increase for management.
9700 Doesnt even cover my mortgage interest, much less property tax, business expenses, donations, education expenses, student loan interest, and so on.
I realize the vast majority around here, based on posts in this thread, dont make enough money to itemize, but those of us that do, the gap is huge.
Simple. Texas have very favorable laws for this type of expansion, Keller has a high median income level and extremely high percentage of homes using the internet. Most homes in Keller are already CAT5 wired, and Verizon has several major field offices in the D/FW area.
I look at the several open source projects I have done, from just a few lines of code, to several thousand, and I think success, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.
If i have users, and users that enjoy the software I am happy. I am just elated when the users get on my forums and help each other out. Not only are there people out there using my software, but people that like it enough to keep coming back to my site and post helping other less experienced users with issues and chit chat.
I guess, once again, Lucas proves he just doesnt care about his fans, just his franchise.
He has attempted to kill, maim, destroy all types of fan sites and fan fiction based on SW, aka bobafett.com
Makes you wonder why he even bothers to deny its about the money, when he finds ways to discourage everything else it could be about.

And here are the joys of working for a company based in the UK. S&O doesnt apply. Until the House of Lords decides to pass something similar at least.
