I was always under the impression that backwards time travel would be impossible due to the unresolvable paradoxes that could conceivably occur. Ie. I go back in time and murder my grandmother, which would cause me to never be born which would make it impossible for me to go back in time to kill my grandmother which means she wouldn't die at my hands which would mean that i would be born and could go back in time and kill her which would mean I would never be born, blah, blah etc.
LiT was by far the best movie of the year but it won't have any chance at the Oscar's... there may be a nomination for Bill Murray, but I'm sure he'll be snubbed again (hell, he didn't even get a nomination for Rushmore, a film in which he was outstanding).
Also, i doubt you'll get too many others to agree with you given the LotR-fix**obsession**ation on slashdot.
I'm curious about the link in your post.
What happens to these creatures when they're photographed at that depth? The flash strobe would have to be incredibly bright to get the colors those photographs show and I imagine that a creature that needs to see at 5,000 ft below sea level would be rather sensitive to light.
Are they temporarily blinded? Shocked into a catatonic state? Or do they not care?
Nah, I've screenprinted a bunch of shirts for myself and it's just as easy to print light on dark as it is dark on light.
I suspect it's because colored t-shirts are more expensive from the dyes it takes to color them.
Is this a joke? Radio has as much to do with the enjoyment of music as billboards have to do with enjoying the scenery.
Anyways, you forgot- D) they want to hear new music which they would be unable to hear anywhere else.
Like a million other people, since mp3s became widely available I've purchased at least one cd a week--typically from musicians that aren't played on the radio or mtv--because I've been able to sample a wide variety of mp3s. I also haven't bought a crappy album since then.
Nice... a few days ago I ordered Hero off of Ebay based on the reccomendations of people here.
Here are my top 10 of 2003 (IMDB ratings in parentheses):
10). School of Rock (7.7)
9). Kill Bill (8.2)
8). Mystic River (8.1)
7). 21 Grams (7.9)
6). Elephant (7.6)
5). Talk to Her (8.2)
4). American Splendor (8.1)
3). Gerry (6.2)
2). Spellbound (8.5)
1). Lost in Translation (8.2)
A few movies that I've heard good things about that haven't reached us yet in Boston that may end up displacing some of the above are:
- House of Sand and Fog (?)
- Girl with the Pearl Earring (7.2)
- Japanese Story (6.5)
- The Triplets of Belleville (7.2)
Movies that I can't fathom why everyone liked:
3). Better Luck Tomorrow (7.6)
2). Swimming Pool (7.1) (I didn't understand this movie until about a week after seeing it, so maybe it is good and I'm just an idiot).
1). Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (7.5)

8. albums made with sandpaper sleeves so that they would wear away the covers of other albums they were placed next to.

It used to be so difficult to take control of a billboard. If they start going digital, it will be MUCH easier.

now see, that was much funnier than the 'funniest joke ever' posted above.

Wow, someone has really been paying attention to Fight Club.
How does this work for Sony Pictures? They're part of the MPAA but they're also part of a corporation that sells millions of VCRs.
This?
I work exclusively with Edit Plus and I love it, however, I don't have a Mac and I've never used BBEdit so I don't know how it compares.
