While I don't know the specifics of what is installed (I suspect it's of little value to the user). Shutting down the affiliate program because of a rogue affiliate who was breaking their terms and conditions is rather harsh.

The easiest solution I've found for preventing spam is to disable the posting of URL's.
It can be a little bit of a pain for users to have to break up their urls, though it's amazing how much automated spam it prevents on one of the anonymous/no rego forums that I run.
They're also doing the same in some councils in Australia, I don't know the technical details (eg. if it's RFID) though has just recently been introduced.
Your back will hurt a lot for the first 2 weeks as the muscles develop strength, persevere and take a break when it becomes too much. After a little while like this your back will be strong and posture good.
The important thing with a swiss ball is the height of it, when you sit on it your knees should be slightly below your ass.
Make sure you get a good strong ball, the cheap ones simply do NOT work.
I have a mediball pro 65cm which is good for my height (186cm), and haven't had any complaints in the couple of years that I've been using it.
I'm currently with serverbeach (have been basically since they started), they provide a good product, though one thing that I don't like is their inflexibility, if you need additional resources you can't get it.
As I will be needing this flexibility I will be moving to Server Matrix.
I had been looking at EV1 though clearly their decision lost me as a customer.
I was going to post almost the exact same message, I have been looking at both ev1 and server matrix, server matrix was looking better due to flexibility and some better policies (ev1 apparently will just pull the plug if your box is getting DOS)
anyway, my mind is most definately made up, I'll be moving from serverbeach to server matrix instead of ev1servers.
the fish was lonely so she got another one to keep it company (somewhat like you before you met her huh?)
As for the third fish, there are 2 explanations, she wants a threesome and was using the third fish to hint at it or she knows how fish always die so was buying it in anticipation.
Glad I could help:)
one thing I forgot was that after it is installed if you can't enter passwords, then make sure that the little flag down the bottom right is set to english...
Unfortunately I can't answer the question that you asked, only have production redhat box, other computers I setup running debian using method I've outlined below, all hardware works perfectly.
what I can recommend for you to get debian up and running is to install from knoppix (knoppix is based on debian).
Boot from the cd, open root shell then run knx-install (there is also another similar installation script though it didn't work perfectly like knx-install). after running the installation, reboot without the cd, and you should be booted into your hd install of knoppix
open a root shell and apt-get update, apt-get dist-upgrade and customize to your hearts content.
incase you prefer a gui, do apt-get install synaptic then run synaptic, prefer gnome? apt-get install gnome-desktop-environment
want to install the nvidia drivers? have a look at http://kano.mipooh.net/ I never worked out how to install the drivers previously, though the script there worked perfectly first go.
the sad part is that he could well have been a brain surgeon in china, though unable to get any sort of respect for his qualifications in your country:(
there are a quite a few dedicated hosting providers for $99/mth, as a lot of people have mentioned backups cost, and these companies don't seem to offer backups.
I personally use serverbeach.com and am very happy with their service (I was quite amazed when they emailed me to tell me that they were sticking to their SLA [giving me a month at half price] when they had a small failure the other day), it's a very DIY setup which has been a very good learning experience. My server has 40gig hdd and 400gigs of data transfer, I've yet to figure out a good way of doing backups (is rsync going to be best way to do it very cheaply?)
if you are certain that a virtualserver is what you are after, I can also recommend phpwebhosting.com, I used them for a long time and they never said anything when I used a quite a bit of disk space (400megs), not sure how happy they'd be with you using gigs of space.

I bought a new NIC (realtek chip) to slot into a spare computer, when I installed it I couldn't get either Windows or Linux to install it correctly (the supplied drivers always failed), the strange thing was that after trying pretty much everything I could think of I put a NIC which had been working flawlessly earlier into the same PCI slot and none of the operating systems would recognise install it correctly.
After sticking it into a couple of slots in both my spare computer and everyday desktop with the same results I put my working card into a slot which hadn't been used and it worked flawlessly again...
why would someone go to Circuit City or Best Buy to purchase a machine that has Windows pre-installed, then take it home and install Linux?
Perhaps some of the developers already had a computer which they were using with Windows installed on it (when I switched to linux I didn't go out and buy a new computer, I'd be very surprised if the many people who switched from Windows to linux bought a new computer to do so). Or perhaps the company they worked for purchased machines for all staff with Windows on it.

If it helps at all.
