Claims of moz being small don't seem to apply to the mac. But if size was all that mattered, I'd still be using Mosaic!

As it is, I'd say IE is the most stable, Opera is the fastest, and Mozilla is the most free.

So what? The point is that even if you don't have the netscape search engine selected, your query is still sent to netscape servers.

Spyware in Morpheus? Do you have a cite for that?

Well, I've heard it rumored quite a few times, but now I just did some research and it seems nobody has been able to prove that morpheus had spyware. So I stand (sort of) corrected. I say sort-of because there was unexplained suspicious activity from the program (.dat files containing user's data that morpheus shouldn't be storing, etc) and because the program itself did (as admitted on the morpheus website) allow someone to change their users' registry settings. That alone makes the software unsafe and almost spyware-ish. Bottomline is, I still wouldn't trust the company. (and, afaik, running any fasttrack client runs some KaZaA code, and deceptive advertising is their whole bussiness model)

Almost all of the easy p2p options now come with spyware. Morph, KaZaa, Grokster, they're all making money installing hidden software on users' computers. And denying it until they get caught. And swearing not to do it again. And doing it again.

And since ripping is an INTEGRAL part of music piracy, there does seem to be a claim that Apple is obliquely responsible.

You're entirely missing the fact that many people, such as myself, rip every cd they own and prefer to listen to mp3s and leave the Cd's in a case somewhere. This is entirely legal, and it's the way I like to listen to music that I paid for. As you mentioned, we don't prosecute fertilizer companies when bombs are made with their products, because their product is targeted at law abiding gardeners. Likewise, going after apple for iTunes/iPod would be ridiculous because they target their product at law abiding citizens who want to rip music. If any court ruling were presented against apple (unlikely; at this point t's just eisner talking), it would imply that the very concept of archiving your music collection on your computer (and transferring it to your mp3 player) was inherently at odds with the law. And that is absurd.

And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away. And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away! - Matthew 21:19

"And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet. And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it." - Mark 11:13

Jesus! Dude! The time of the figs was not yet! It wasn't fig season! You can't just go around cursing fig trees because they don't produce figs off-season. It's just not nice.

Also, by my source, you've got John 4:14 all wrong.
Isn't it "But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life."? As the font controls: Changing a font can change how much space a whole block of text takes up, which can fuck up a whole layout. Flash isnt meant for that kind of user control! If the user had control of fonts, it would defeat a lot of the benefits of using flash. (like absolute platform independent control of how your content is gonna look)

It's up to the designer to make a decent looking flash movie and, granted, a lot of people have fallen short. But giving added control, epecially font control, would only make the ugly mess that is today's flash content even worse.
