They can also easily be the sort of person who has nothing in their life besides online social networking. Last time I checked, internet communications were not the de facto standard of a person's ability to handle themselves in real life social situations.

Sinfest is also quite worthy. It's a spiritual (lol) successor of strips like Calvin & Hobbes and Bloom County. I've enjoyed Sinfest more than any other web or newspaper comic for years.

    Here's a few apps/tweak files I haven't seen mentioned.

    NTRegOpt: http://www.larshederer.homepage.t-online.de/erunt/
Defrags XP's registry, reduces the overall size.

    Microsoft Bootvis: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=664
A tool made by MS specifically for optimizing XP boot up times.

MaxTweaks: http://www.tech52.com/ (scroll down page for file and description)
A cumulative XP tweak and fix install file. Highlight: Enables "Show hidden devices" in the Device Manager to display unused devices - like what you would see if you booted 98 in safe mode.

hyacinthus, I understand where you're coming from. But if anything, your "cruelty masquerading as comedy" comment is more descriptive of the new Simpsons episodes than anything else. If The Simpsons were still living up to its standards, I would choose it over Futurama in a heartbeat. But the torch has been passed. Fry is a 25 year old version of the sweet, well meaning dope of a guy Homer used to be. Humanity isn't really Futurama's schtick, but I urge you to check out the season 3 episode "The Luck of The Fryrish" if you haven't already. It gives Fry a bit more of a backstory, and has made me cry on several occasions. This was the episode that made appreciate the full potential Futurama has to offer.
