I agree, you site DMCA or present any kind of letter that looks legal enough you will get the ISP to fold. Most ISP's do not have a legal team and its a lot safer to take a site down than to be liable for leaving it up.
I disagree with the article, we live in the litigation nation where everyone is lawsuit happy. Its not censorship, its safety. I would rather take someones site or content down by accident then to have my company shut down due to legal fees.
The F5 stuff can be really expensive, I looked into it. I've seen free/open source monitoring stuff but no failover apps. Im using no-ip.com's monitoring service, its basically DNS based failover and they monitor my site every 2 or 3 minutes. I priced a whole bunch of providers around earlier in the year and found them to be the cheapest.
You will get more out of one of the new digital SLR's. Yeah its gonna cost you an extra $800 to get into the dslr area but its worth it. You can instantly see the results of using different lenses/settings/filters. Plus this is slashdot so get into the digital age.
I have had my digital rebel for 2 months and love it. Yeah I have a big credit card bill, but it will go away....
"OO's rough courtship with Relational databases", I must be missing somthing.... Do people think that RDBMS is that complex? Or are these the same people using MS Access.
Lots and lots of dope to pull somthing like this off. I agree its a good idea, but if this ever becomes a reality in my life time I will die of a heart attack.
I've had good online classes and bad ones. I can honestly say I never learned a great deal from either type. Online classes are best used for classes you dont want to go to or have no interest in.
If you want to learn, go to class.
I cant say that a 100% of the population out there would adopt anything so hideous as this proposal. You would sooner get shot than be able to instal a device on the peoples cars that I know up there.
Why the f$ck to people get off on bashing a movie like AoTC? There are hundreds of other worthless movies to bash but no one bothers to write about them. What about this latest Jason piece of sh$t that just came out?
First off, if you are not a fan of Star Wars then you probably are not going to get half of the movie and enjoy all of the history behind it. So if you are not a fan of it, dont see it.
Second, if you are a fan and you diddnt like it. Then you really need to ask yourself if you liked Episode 4,5,6 and bought into the entire story. Cause if you diddnt like AoTC you are not a fan and have no right to bash Lucas There was so much in this movie to like and if thats not good enough for you, then get out of the theater and quit ruining my buzz.
Third, Episode 1 did suck, but I realized that the first time I saw it and made sure I diddnt see it again. So that I would not tarnish the image of Star Wars in my head.

Is it me or did they rush the conclusion? Some more details about how Palladium will help p2p would be nice...
