I just started reading a book called "Think like a programmer" by V. Anton Spraul. The title pretty much gives the content away, and after reading roughly the first quarter I'd say it's a good read. The target language is C++, but that probably won't be too much of a hindrance. Keep a good C++ reference at hand and I suspect you'll do fine. The book is available in both hard copy, ePUB and Kindle format.
I am not affiliated with author or publisher in any way.
Apparently from Sweden to US there's no need for anything other than a request, and no reason is required.
Wrong. If the USA wants him extradited from Sweden the matter returns to the UK. Sweden can't extradite him after he has been extradited from the UK, as that would be a violation of the extradition terms.
As for old color schemes being well researched; the green on black scheme has been proved to cause PERMANENT damage to your color vision. The resulting damage will cause any pattern of white vertical stripes with the same angular frequency as the vertical strokes of the letters on your screen to look pink. Not serious for most of us, just weird. White picket fences will look pink if viewed from the "right" distance, but white if you move away or closer.
Actually, green on black is reported as the only combination that leads to permanent damage of color perception. It might not be too big a deal, but prolonged exposure is reported to make white fences in the distance look pink. This happens when the spatial frequency of the fence posts match that of the vertical strokes in the letters on your screen, as you normally see them.
There is'nt, never has been, and never will be a Nobel prize in economics.
The award he was presented with was "The Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel". It was established in 1968, and not intended to celebrate the memory of Alfred Nobel as the name suggests, but the three hundredth birhtday of the Swedish central bank.
Alfred Nobel only mentions prizes in five categories in his last will and testament: "Literature", "Physiologi or Medicin", "Physics", "Chemistry" and "Champions of peace", and these real Nobel prizes have been awarded since 1901.
An uneven surface requires you to use more muscles to balance your body, and keep from falling. Using more muscles leads to at least three benefits:
Higher energy consumption
Building strength
Lubricating joints
This is not news, everyone involved in physical training knows, or should know, about this. Several studies have also shown that "micromovements", such as "bobbing knees" (constantly moving your leg up and down when seated) also leads to less overweight. Cobblestone mats is just another way to make you work a little harder, and so can prove effective if you use them a lot. A more pleasant way would be to simply get out more, preferrably out of town. A walk in a forest typically requires more energy expenditure than a stroll around the block.
How about quoting the entire article instead of just the first paragraph:
ARTICLE 10
1. Everyone has the right to freedom of expression. this right shall include freedom to hold opinions and to receive and impart information and ideas without interference by public authority and regardless of frontiers. This article shall not prevent States from requiring the licensing of broadcasting, television or cinema enterprises.
2. The exercise of these freedoms, since it carries with it duties and responsibilities, may be subject to such formalities, conditions, restrictions or penalties as are prescribed by law and are necessary in a democratic society, in the interests of national security, territorial integrity or public safety, for the prevention of disorder or crime, for the protection of health or morals, for the protection of the reputation or the rights of others, for preventing the disclosure of information received in confidence, or for maintaining the authority and impartiality of the judiciary.
Article 10 isn't a carte blanche to publish anything you want, it comes with responsibilities too. In this case, "for the prevention of disorder or crime" seems applicable, since someone apparently boasted about their own violent criminal behaviour on the site.
I have half of your problem, namely the digital photo storage problem. My solution has been to copy the really important photos to negative film. It's usually expensive, but luckily a friend of mine has a digital film recorder, so I only have to pay for the film.
You can get a "decent" film recorder for 35 mm film for under $1000, but if you want better results you'll need to spend more...
There are companies that will transfer digital video to analogue film stock for you, but they are REALLY expensive. If the video is really important, you can check them out. Example: http://www.cinebyte.com/

No, it isn't. That is still Stockholm. Lies don't become facts just because they are reported by Fox News and other media outlets.

Metaphore for "mixed" in this context.
