Scalar vector graphics and sound are cool, but Flash was not wonderful technology. Adobe was not to blame; they just bought the existing monster.
Flash was foremost a huge CPU waster. And an easy to use vector for all sorts of security exploits (because the original code from Macromedia was an abomination).
And don't forget, Flash was so important you shouldn't even be able to uninstall it.
Bitching about Adobe only accounts for the last 10 years of Flash vulnerabilities. But, don't forget Flash was created by Macromedia, which was far more evil than Adobe. Macromedia used to not have an uninstaller for Flash, because they didn't want you to be able to uninstall it!
(this is where my reply meant to go, but I screwed it up and added it as a separate comment below)

An assembly line worker is no more an accomplice then the maker of the computer Andrus used.
On the other hand, I suspect if you were a worker hired to take a car and specifically enhance it to be part of the armed robbery (e.g,. make it a better getaway car), then they could try you as an accomplice.
I stopped using Chrome the *second* time it just stopped working correctly, because an extension I depended upon got "updated" and thus no longer worked. I can't stand having to figure out why things aren't working correctly anymore when I haven't changed anything. As long as it's impossible to lock down the software until *I* want to update it, I'll just opt out of Chrome.
When my FiOS went from 25/25 to 50/25, my measured rate went from 25/25 to 60/40! I hope that with this "update", I don't end up being downgraded to 50/50.
I think it would be funny to steal cars and program to circle the Beltway endlessly until they run out of gas. We could see how many we could get going at once. It'd be even better if we could put them into 'Senior Citizen' mode, where they randomly speed up and slow down, and change lanes without signalling.
Randomly speeding up or slowing down, and changing lanes without signalling is called "Massachusetts Mode".
Because if they opened more than four, that would be just... what?

Oops... this reply was meant to be in response to "Thank you" above.

Is there an extension to prevent Chrome from automatically updating extensions?
(I'm tired of finding something I was depending upon no longer working because I got an "update")

Mod this up, please!
The pitch is simple: Outlook will let you manage your work and personal email on your phone and tablet as efficiently as you do on your computer.
I don't think I want to take that same performance hit on my phone and tablet!
They were actually interesting space-themed adventure/action movies. It was a shame he slapped the Star Trek name on them.

+1 for "Classic Theme Restorer"
I'm going to hit you with my modem.
Shouldn't that be "Winter for Pluto and Uranus"?
To be even more fair, the Slashdot summary is the first paragraph of the article. The dumb line comes straight from the article.
Does that mean we have to file a bug report if they decide to kill a human?
Yuck. I wouldn't want to eat a Camel. That's it, the PETA sticker has to go from my car.
Another one:
"Microsoft’s long love of the BASIC programming language extends all the way back to 1991."
I guess the prior dozen years just don't count.
A sample of the writing in the article:
"Perl, which works as a CGI scripting language, found its most popular use in generating Web pages."
Clueless drivel.
Whether or not you know weather is not climate, you won't know how thick the ice is until you climb it.
Come back in 10 years when it can be called a "classic" platform.
All the companies I've worked for didn't allow a split-tunnel VPN from corporate laptops.
Split-tunnel pretty much kills the whole point of using a VPN.
That's from the corporate IT point of view.
From my own machine point of view, having all my traffic routed to my employer kills the whole point of having a fast Internet connection.
He should run the VPN in a VM and not on his main host, to avoid this dumb VPN client from hijacking his traffic.
